North Korean leader Kim Jong Un gifted new sniper rifles to top government and military officials following a weeklong ruling party congress celebrating his leadership, with state media highlighting an image of his teenage daughter taking aim at a shooting range as her increasingly prominent appearances fuel speculation Kim is grooming her as a future leader.
Kim presented the rifles to senior party and military officials on Friday, calling them a sign of his “absolute trust” and gratitude for their commitment over the past five years since the last Workers’ Party congress in 2021, North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency said Saturday.
The report also confirmed Kim’s powerful sister, Kim Yo Jong, who in recent years has served as his fierce spokesperson toward Washington and Seoul, now serves as the general affairs director of the party’s central committee following a promotion at the congress.

He is 42 years old. His sister, Kim Yo Jong is 38. Baring an early demise by other factors (such as today’s events) his sister is not a factor as she will be as old as he is when he gives up his position.

Usually. the “heir to the throne” is not prominently advertised until shortly before the changing of the guard. Why is Kim showing us so much of his daughter now?
Is he planning to retire, perhaps due to health reasons?
His sister will need close monitoring. should Kim decide not to lead anymore. The impression is she is more lethal, more ambitious than Hillary!
At least the Obamanation of Desolation was wearing hearing protection.

I’m pretty sure Germany doesn’t sell to the Norks so that’s most likely an unlicensed knock-off of a Steyr SSG 08. The ammunition visible in the open case is not 7.62x54R so judging from the length of the magazine it’s probably chambered in 7.62 NATO.
