Hillary Clinton Claims She ‘Had No Idea’ of Jeffrey Epstein’s Crimes

Former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the House Oversight Committee on Thursday that she had no idea about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.

In her opening statement, which she later posted on X, Clinton said she had no idea of Epstein’s criminal activities.

“I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island home or offices,” she said.

Speaking with reporters afterward, Clinton said she “answered every one of their questions as fully as I could,” adding that “I never met Jeffrey Epstein” and “I knew Ghislaine Maxwell casually, as an acquaintance.”

“I don’t know how many times I had to say I didn’t know Jeffrey Epstein,” she said.

If I were questioning, I would have started with how it felt to be reviled by Jerry Zeifman because of her unethical conduct during the Watergate inquiry. If she made any cotrections, when asked about Epstein, the second she said “I don’t recall”, my response: how is it you clearly remember events of 50 years ago, but can’t remember more recent events?

Hillary came outside the courthouse in Chappaqua yesterday when her deposition was over and took questions. I saw the press briefing Comer gave today after Clinton’s deposition and I thought maybe he would appear after that just like Hillary did but he went out the back door, I guess. That would have been fun to watch!

You always have to very, very carefully parse anything and everything Clintons say.

In this case Hillary may not have had any “idea” of Epstein’s crimes.

But she did have factual knowledge of his crimes based on her first hand experience and involvement.
