In January, at the peak of the violent crackdown on.... protests in Iran, a medical worker in the northern city of Rasht suddenly found his trauma center overwhelmed with hundreds of injured protesters.
Many were struck by multiple pellets or bullets targeting their heads, necks, chests, femurs and abdomens....
...
“They want to sweep it under the rug."
.... Human Rights Activists News Agency, which tallies only victims it can identify, has reported at least 6,800 protest-related deaths, with an additional 11,744 cases under investigation.
Other estimates put the death toll much higher....
“It is one of the worst mass killings in contemporary world history.”
They also tried to silence....frontline medical workers.
[F]ollowing the bloodshed, which reached its height on Jan. 8 and 9, we contacted....doctors and nurses working in Iran...
....[W]e surveyed 40 Iranian doctors and nurses across 14 cities and 11 provinces about their experiences treating wounded protesters. They shared their stories with us at great personal risk....
This is what they told us. [40 testimonials follow]
Many of the accounts we received from the doctors and nurses inside Iran were of children under 18 who were injured or killed. The youngest was a newborn.
“A breastfeeding mother was holding her baby when security forces opened fire on their car....The bullet passed through the baby’s hand and into the mother’s chest.”
A nurse from the central city of Isfahan sent us testimony from one boy’s father....:
“We had gone to the streets to protest. The officers attacked my son, targeting his head and neck with a pellet gun. I begged the riot police to stop. But before my own eyes, they fired the final shot — a live bullet — into his head.”....

This is not a reason to make war in Iran.
The fact they are trying to build a nuke while swearing our destruction...IS.
They haven't been paying attention.
The rumor is the bodies of women and children murdered by the regime are being kept in cold storage so that they can later be dumped upon any site where American attacks occur.
American deaths while deposing the mullahs and their cronies in Iran will result in the Democrats taking the House and Senate in the 2026 election and possibly the Presidency in2028. This will be an unmitigated disaster for America. The people Iran however difficult the process must determine their own fate.
The fact that Iran is responsible for likely more than half the terrorism against U.S. interests since the mid 1980’s, even while they were fighting Iraq, is.
What is happening to Iran is historic. Never before has an Islamic country had a revolt against Islam itself. The only time Islam has lost territory has been when outside forces have been victorious. This could be the spark that burns down the whole merciless war of Islamic colonization of the World. America would be foolish to pass over this opportunity to jump start the beginning of the end of this cancerous 14 century long plague of ruthless evil .
Nothing happening in Iran is worth risking American lives over.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Iran cuts a deal at the last minute agreeing to all our demands, then spins it publicly that they didn’t, saying they stood up to The Great Satan. Then waits however long it takes for a Dem to return to the WH so they can resume biz as usual.
My view is the Democrats have committed the most dangerous acts of terrorism against the United States.
Isn’t the replacement government going to be Muslim as well?
“Nothing happening in Iran is worth risking American lives over”.
Too late. Countless Americans have already been killed by the Iranian regime.
Crimes against humanity
But, I won’t hold my breath waiting for the UN or World Court to do anything about it.
Not that they can.
Anything they do makes things worse as a general rule.
I agree with most of your post, especially the overall sentiment that Islam may be losing its luster. But I respectfully disagree with the statement that there has never been a revolt against Islam itself within an Islamic country. The Young Turks revolt within the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century (part of WW1) is an example of that and led to the somewhat secularization of Turkey.
I've read, but in no way can confirm, that Christians make up a significant portion of the revolutionaries in Iran. Some say the crackdown on protestors has not only fired up the masses against the mullahs, but also made the Christians look like heroes. This, too, could play into the hope (that both you and I have) that the people will see Islam for the ugly thing it is.
How did allendale ever get on Free Republic? To the contrary of what he/she said. if we are successful in deposing the Iranian Regime, the Republicans will gain at the polls in November and 2028.
That is quite a bit different than Americans being killed in a war we started with Iran.
That starts happening and Trump will be George W. Bush in his second term and Democrats will sweep back into power.
Iran massacre - bump for later....
High ranking officials have recently been sleeping in hospitals, because they know we bomb them.
True. Recently, they have been executing teenagers (14,15, 16 yr olds) who were arrested in protests. Fresh bodies.
I did check with Grok first about my claim about Islam. Turkey was defeated in WWI. It would be quite natural for the government to change its ways after such a loss. In the case of Turkey you might be correct but I attribute the change to Ataturk who successfully defeated Churchill’s invasion at Gallipoli.
