A baby-faced 11-year-old accused of executing his adoptive father after he took away his Nintendo Switch was hauled into court in handcuffs on Thursday.
Clayton Dietz is being charged as an adult with criminal homicide after he shot his father dead in his bed on Jan. 13 — the child’s birthday — in Duncannon, Pa., north of Harrisburg.
The bespectacled boy, surrounded by probation officers, appeared to be tripping over himself as he walked into the Perry County Courthouse for a hearing Thursday afternoon, shocking video from WHP shows.
Clayton, who was adopted in 2018, shot 42-year-old Douglas Dietz with a revolver he found in the dad’s safe, according to prosecutors.
He told police he found the keys to the gun safe while searching for the game system, which his parents had confiscated and locked up with the firearm, authorities said.
Police responded to the home around 3:20 a.m. and found the elder Dietz with a gunshot wound to his head — and the 11-year-old screaming at the top of his lungs, according to court documents.
“Daddy’s dead,” the boy was shrieking and was overheard telling his mother, “I killed Daddy,” documents said.
He allegedly admitted to “removing the gun from the safe, loading bullets into it and walking over to his father’s side of the bed” before “he pulled back the hammer and fired the gun at his father,” the affidavit stated.

I don’t care how old he is, fry him!
Kid probably never told no in his entire life.
But once anyway.
Video games are the work of the devil. I don’t make that statement lightly.
“My father took away my Nintendo Switch once........Once!”
I really can’t wait for a worldwide EMP to take us back to the 1800s..
I think anyone under 50yo couldn’t survive (unless they were raised on a ranch or farm).
That’s the last time Dad will do that....
Jesus help us.
Cell phones are more the work of satan then video games.
Handheld tablets even more so.
Since he was adopted, who knows what his childhood was like. But killing someone at that age, he’s a hard wired psychopath who will likely be a threat to society for the rest of his life.
>> Jesus help us.
Yes and Amen.

Fully agree.
>> I really can’t wait for a worldwide EMP to take us back to the 1800s...
I have tongue-in-cheek adopted the badge “Neo-Luddite” to join the other badges that have been hung on me (”FAAAR-Right”, “Ultra-MAGA”, “Christian Nationalist”, ...)

Some, perhaps a surprising number, of the younger generations would be willing to learn... others have already drunk our Kool-Aid and are down with the simple life. For example do a web search “Cottagecore”. If you’re still okay with using the web, that is. :-)
FRegards and Blessings
Life would be better and law was swift...not delayed for years.
“he’s a hard wired psychopath”
^^^This. If he did this at 11 years one can only imagine the prior few years. Grabbing a readily available gun and blasting out a couple windows is one thing but searching for keys to the safe, grabbing the gun and loading it and aiming for the head is pure execution.
Pronto.
Amen.
