What is happening to Iran is historic. Never before has an Islamic country had a revolt against Islam itself. The only time Islam has lost territory has been when outside forces have been victorious.  This could be the spark that burns down the whole merciless war of Islamic colonization of the World.  America would be foolish to pass over this opportunity to jump start the beginning of the end of this cancerous 14 century long plague of ruthless evil .

Since the Regime believes they are God's gift to the Universe the only way they will stop is if they are stopped by force. Protests to them are merely an opportunity to massacre even more people.

The only way you can overthrow the existing regime is to get the Iranian armed forces to turn on the mullahs. In 1953, that is how the pro-Soviet regime of Mossadegh was overthrown. We can destroy the country's military capacity, a lot of the infrastructure, and perhaps a few leaders, but real regime change must come from the military, not from rioting civilians. Remember how ruthlessly the Soviets crushed Eastern European uprisings and the Red Chinese the student protests of 1989. Militant Islam is as authoritarian as Marxism-Leninism.

'Mever before has an Islamic country had a revolt against Islam itself"

And it's not happening now. I seriously doubt outside Tehran and the diaspora anyone would characterize the protests this way
