I’ve never been to court for anything like this.
What happens after a Mistrial has been declared?
Does the defendant automatically go free, or is a new trial date set, at request of the prosecutor?

A new trial date is set and there is a new jury pool. The new date is next Monday.

New trial, I believe. But lawyer must be disbarred. And charged with obstruction of justice, contempt of court. Jail time of about 6 months.
