Washington Governor Bob Ferguson (D) stated Monday that the state government aims to “partner” with the anti-ICE groups illegally tracking and hounding federal law enforcement agents.
The governor expressed support for the anti-ICE insurgency in his state just one day before the FBI launched an investigation into the Signal chat groups organizing the the anti-ICE insurgency in Minnesota.
Ferguson held a press conference alongside Washington’s Attorney General Nick Brown (D.) to condemn ICE after two agitators in Minnesota were fatally shot by federal agents. Brown was widely criticized last month after he warned independent journalists to stop investigating alleged fraudulent Somali daycare centers in the state or they could be charged with a hate crime.
The governor told reporters that what is happening in Minnesota and Washington is “community, individuals, and grass roots organizations doing their part to stand up for their fellow residents.”
“I appreciate that work,” he added.
Ferguson went on to blame some recent school “shelter in place” orders in Seattle on the Trump administration, rather than the anti-ICE groups that provoked hysteria by disseminating misinformation.
“There’s a climate of fear going on right now and I can’t blame folks for acting on their information,” he said. “That’s not their fault, it’s the fault of the Trump administration and what ICE is doing,” the Democrat insisted. “Let’s be very, very clear about that. They’re creating the situation, they’re creating the climate of fear.”
Last week, independent journalist Cam Higby infiltrated the signal groups behind the highly organized effort in the Minneapolis area to track, impede, obstruct, harass, threaten, and in some cases assault federal law enforcement officers. Their activities include logging license plates and dispatching militants to their locations to harass and impede the officers.
Higby posted all of the information gathered from the signal groups onto X, including names of the insurgents, links to state officials, shift positions, training manuals, donors, patrol zones, and more.
In a long and sobering post on X, reacting to the new information, former Special Forces Warrant Officer, Eric Schwalm compared the anti-ICE effort in Minneapolis to the insurgencies he fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“With multiple rotations running counterinsurgency ops—both hunting insurgents and trying to separate them from sympathetic populations—I’ve seen organized resistance up close,” Schwalm stated. “From Anbar to Helmand, the pattern is familiar: spotters, cutouts, dead drops (or modern equivalents), disciplined comms, role specialization, and a willingness to absorb casualties while bleeding the stronger force slowly. What’s unfolding in Minneapolis right now isn’t ‘protest.’ It’s low-level insurgency infrastructure, built by people who’ve clearly studied the playbook.”
Signal groups at 1,000-member cap per zone. Dedicated roles: mobile chasers, plate checkers logging vehicle data into shared databases, 24/7 dispatch nodes vectoring assets, SALUTE-style reporting (Size, Activity, Location, Unit, Time, Equipment) on suspected federal vehicles. Daily chat rotations and timed deletions to frustrate forensic recovery. Vetting processes for new joiners. Mutual aid from sympathetic locals (teachers providing cover, possible PD tip-offs on license plate lookups). Home-base coordination points. Rapid escalation from observation to physical obstruction—or worse.
This isn’t spontaneous outrage. This is C2 (command and control) with redundancy, OPSEC hygiene, and task organization that would make a SF team sergeant nod in recognition. Replace “ICE agents” with “occupying coalition forces” and the structure maps almost 1:1 to early-stage urban cells we hunted in the mid-2000s.
The most sobering part? It’s domestic. Funded, trained (somewhere), and directed by people who live in the same country they’re trying to paralyze law enforcement in. When your own citizens build and operate this level of parallel intelligence and rapid-response network against federal officers—complete with doxxing, vehicle pursuits, and harassment that’s already turned lethal—you’re no longer dealing with civil disobedience. You’re facing a distributed resistance that’s learned the lessons of successful insurgencies: stay below the kinetic threshold most of the time, force over-reaction when possible, maintain popular support through narrative, and never present a single center of gravity.
I spent years training partner forces to dismantle exactly this kind of apparatus. Now pieces of it are standing up in American cities, enabled by elements of local government and civil society. That should keep every thinking American awake at night.
Not because I want escalation. But because history shows these things don’t de-escalate on their own once the infrastructure exists and the cadre believe they’re winning the information war.
We either recognize what we’re actually looking at—or we pretend it’s still just “activism” until the structures harden and spread.
Your call, America. But from where I sit, this isn’t January 2026 politics anymore. It’s phase one of something we’ve spent decades trying to keep off our own soil.
The Democrat governor of Washington told reporters Monday that he “appreciates the work” the anti-ICE insurgents have been doing in his state and that if things continue to “escalate,” the state government “will depend on those folks to partner with us on making sure the conduct of ICE agents is being recorded.”
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes (D) spurred outrage last week after suggesting during an interview that residents may use lethal force against masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents using the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law. Every law enforcement group in Arizona has since rejected her statements as reckless, endangering officers, and fundamentally misguided.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Monday that the Bureau has launched an investigation into the Signal chats in Minnesota and potentially nationwide because they are organizing activities that are breaking federal laws.
“We immediately opened up that investigation because that sort of Signal chat being coordinated with individuals, not just locally in Minnesota, but maybe even around the country — if that leads to a break in the federal statute or a violation of some law, then we are going to arrest people,” Patel said.
“You cannot create a scenario that illegally entraps and puts law enforcement in harm’s way,” he added.

It sure looks like leftist politicians are coordinating with the protesters and the immigrant fraudsters.
Good luck! This kinda crap seeps into every crack.
So I wonder what all these blue states governors and mayors will do if all of a sudden they have to cut off benefits for illegals and they decide to then just take what they need or just want? Oh, I know ... mommy’s basement still has a hidey-hole for them.
So, the Govt. is actively involved with Anti Govt.
The Govt. is actively involved with stopping law enforcement from Enforcing the laws that the Govt. passed.
How in the hell is this NOT insurrection.
When the state of Arizona passed a law stating that it will support Immigration laws. Obama sued the state of Arizona and won at the US Supreme Court. The court stated the FEDS have 100% absolute authority of enforcing Immigration laws.
Full on sedition. Arrest the governor.
I wonder how swing voters feel about what is going on?
It does seem that, rather than shutting down those in clandestine communication, we are angling toward another Civil War. The Blue States are identifying themselves as the New Confederacy.
I am not a fan of the ”Union-Do-or-Die” mentality. I would rather see a mechanism by which these states lose their statehood and revert to federally managed territories.
The democrats REALLY HATE the United States. They want is to steal all the tax dollars they can nothing else
Yes, State founding fathers waging an insurrection against the Constitution and the duly elected Federal government. LOL!
Trump cut off their Free Money and they’re feeling it Big Time ,LOL
Then you will be designated “the enemy”, and subject to all the associated benefits of that designation. We are not playing around with this. Minnesota better sack up and take out their trash before someone else does it.
This is Washington’s attempt to catch up with Oregon and Minnesota in the craziness race.
Soooo...we all get to choose which laws we will follow, or not?
This is sedition. Trump had better start making arrests or he can kiss the country goodbye. They may be right about TACO.
Antifa strong points are Seattle, Portland, MN and parts of Dallas, TX.
Seattle is really where they started coming from Germany -> Vancouver BC, -> Seattle -> Portland back around 2005.
I found their first secret communications back in 2010 before they improved their security.
The governor and attorney general of my home state are an embarrassment to everything right and good. The same for the people who elected them.
SEDITION AND TREASON, PURE AND SIMPLE.
The new American Red Guard are the foot soldiers of the Democrat party.
I remember that well. The purple lipped Kenyan got right in Brewer’s face for all to see and the democrats loved him for it.
