Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka:
About a year ago my wife and I lost our minds and got a new born Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. One year of puppy chaos behind us I can tell you how they get so called Lap Dogs. They breed for cute and anxious. The more anxiety, the better.
All are super cute.
I always wonder about genetic abnormalities from inbreeding whenever I see these pure bred dogs.
My daughter lost a dog last year that was 1/2 standard poodle - apparently kidney dysplasia is not uncommon in that breed, meaning that the kidneys do not develop. There was nothing to be done except to put the poor puppy down, she was only seven months old, it was devastating.
I have a shih-tzu/poodle and was wondering why the vet wanted to run a full kidney panel on my puppy, I’d never had a vet do that before with all my previous dogs - found out later that the shih-tzu is also known for kidney dysplasia.
The Teddy Roosevelt Terrier is a good-looking dog. Small, but muscular.
I want a TR terrier. NOW
So long as you’re not breeding these to win at Westminster, carry on.
Since 1907, three breeds (Fox Terrier - wirehaired and smooth, Scottish Terrier, Poodles - standard, miniature and toy) have won 38 times between them, 32% of the time.
As groups, Terriers and Non-Sporting (Poodles) have won 60 times, 51%.
I will rejoice the first time a Komondor wins (the coat of the Komondor takes about two and a half DAYS to dry after a bath.)
