A 43-year-old man in West Palm Beach, Florida, is now facing felony charges classified as a hate crime after allegedly attempting to run over members of a local LGBTQ+ running group.
Last month, Night Runners WPB, a local running group, was gathered at Howard Park in Palm Beach for an 8 pm run when Ihab Mustafa El Mahmoud “purposely drove his car towards the victims and the group of people,” according to the West Palm Beach Police Department.
El Mahmoud was reportedly upset after a member of the group made a passing comment to him. In response, he accelerated his vehicle at the runners, driving through a parking lot, onto a sidewalk, and across the grass, nearly striking members of the group.
The group’s treasurer, Rudolph Galindo, said he experienced “fear and terror” during the incident. “It was an experience that I have never felt before,” he said, according to CBS 12.
El Mahmoud was initially booked on multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and reckless driving. During a bond hearing earlier this month, the assistant state attorney described him as “extremely dangerous” and said he “purposely drove” at the runners. The judge denied bond in response.
State attorneys’ filings now include a hate crime enhancement related to one of the victims. According to court documents, El Mahmoud “perceived...Jackson’s sexual orientation and intentionally selected him for the assault.” The enhancement means that, if convicted, El Mahmoud could face significantly longer prison time.

Mental illness , both sides
Weird name for a Floridian
I don’t know.
Think about it, which would you rather have?
Him Or the FDRQ’s?
He kinda sounds like our kind of people.
Cop: Does this street look like a high rise building roof to you?
If he had tried to run over a Christian group would he had been charged with a hate crime?
DEI role model
“He kinda sounds like our kind of people.”
Until he cuts your throat because you’re not a Muslim.
“He kinda sounds like our kind of people.”
NEITHER is ‘our kind of people’.
The definition of Florida man is stretched beyond recognition.
Used "Sonny" to be mistaken for "Sonny" Crockett played by Don Johnson on Miami Vice. Never took off. Went back to his old name. 🏝️🏝️
“Cop: Does this street look like a high rise building roof to you?”
Well were he comes from there is no Drag Queen story time.
Word to the (un)wise: When in America, deliberately running over anyone, gays included is a big No-No!
Would you want somebody chasing you down the pavement from the comfort of their vehicle? Like a Rabbit trying to dodge a Snowmobile?
Of course, you wouldn’t. So, no can do!
We don’t do that here, and then expect to get away with it.
“NEITHER is ‘our kind of people’.”
We have more in common with him than you think.
I’m sure they wonder why we put up with all of this faggot $hit. We sit here and gripe about this crap being in our schools and libraries yet this guy just flips one day and does this? Maybe he has kids too? Maybe he does not want his kids molested by some FDRQ just the same as you all don’t?
“Our people”?
You got a mouse in your pocket?
THE 2 TEENS in LAS VEGAS WHO RAN DOWN A RETIRED POLICE CHIEF ON HIS BICYCLE===GOT LIFE.
I know. I understand the Muslims.
They are what they are, I dislike their religion and what they stand for, but if you listen to what they say (and you don’t have to even listen that hard) they don’t pull any punches. They tell you exactly what they are all about.
I just cannot wrap my brain around the LGBTQ people who support muslims. It seems completely insane to me. But there they are. Queers for Palestine.
The muslims will happily accept their support, and in the next breath, without even so much as an explanation (none is needed in any case) will cheerfully and enthusiastically throw those same people off the roof of a building.
It is paradoxes like that which convinces me that segment of the LGBTQ people are mentally ill, if not outright insane.
“Florida Man”? Any relation to “Michigan Man”?
I agree it was very unwise.
See my post 14. That is the only reason I can think he did this. He must think we don’t care, we do but we get so much push back. This is not tolerated where he came from.
I mean admit it when we were growing up this would not have been tolerated. In fact I recall when “gay bashing” was a thing and it only stopped because people were afraid of getting AIDS from them. Did it stop them from being gay? No, but it kept them away from our kids.
Big time.
