I’m not at all familiar with the geology of the region of these pyramids, but I would assume that the sand there is not a mile deep. I would also assume that the chambers wouldn’t go deep into bedrock. This would indicate that there would be ceilings over the chambers and these ceilings would have to be capable of supporting the weight of an entire pyramid and all the sand around it. This simply doesn’t seem possible to me.
