People don’t understand Trump...he often responds to criticism without having researched the person he’s responding to. In this case, besides Schiff, myself, and the Big Short guy, there was NO ONE in the United States who accurately predicated the 2008 housing crash.

The Bush Admin and Senator McCain warned repeatedly about Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac and what thus became the 2008 financial crisis -- starting in 2002 (and actually even earlier -- in the Clinton and Carter White Houses). Democrats resisted and kept to their party line, extending loans to people who couldn't afford them -- more like you would expect of socialists.

In reality there were plenty of people who knew that we were in a huge housing bubble. You can probably find the FR group by searching for ex-Texan who kind of was the leader of the pack.

Here in SoCal USC economist Chris Thornburg warned about it long before it blew. SoCal was ground zero of the subprime lending industry and reporters were writing about the crazy lending. The Housing Bubble Blog website had been a gathering site for maybe three years. Peter Schiff and Michael Burry weren’t unique they simply have a talent for self promtion.
