This is a small documentary of my county's biggest city, Eureka California. If I were to do a full essay it would require pages of the problems. So I won't. If you live in California this can be any big or small town.

And to think those are the people who thought that our problems could be solved by legalizing marijuana. Now the same folks still want to legalize all other drugs too.
Do they ever learn?
Parquet use by the Feds began in 1975. Nixon resigned AUG 1974. Thanks.
With a sound economy based on timber and fishing, the “zombies” would likely be employed, and housed. The west coast has always had some rough edges...saloon society. The war on extractive industries, and the influx of illegals left many holding the proverbial bag.
The margarine, or the flooring?
Of the addicts that remain, they'll be almost all self-sustaining even with addiction. (i.e. working alcoholic)
CA’s nation-leading homeless population results primarily from two causes: the state’s mild weather and its lax drug policies. From San Diego to the Oregon border, the state is a relatively nice place to be outdoors most of the year... and an easy place to get high. The mental illness of many if not most of our street people is largely a byproduct of their drug abuse.
I wonder how many hit the streets to escape domestic/sexual violence. How many are combat vets, thanks to two decades of stupid wars? How many would live indoors if there weren’t 30 million (?) invaders being coddled by various government entities?
The NEW drug capital? Humboldt County has been the drug capital since before I was born.
I lived across the bay from you for a few years in the late 60s.
True, I don’t know what their baseline is. The real sad part is like the guy says, there’s no more fishing, no more logging, no more weed and it’s really a dumping ground for real bad people and worse drugs. Cross tops to Meth, heroin to Fent and the enabling?
Imagine housing all these people all in a an apartment complex then trying to police that!
Nope. They just jump to the next crisis they created and using tax money to not solve.
Neither ;)
Now? I only return when I can't wangle out of it, and I'm a good wangler.
As an unrelated aside, having boated in the Monterey Bay, I can clearly recall where the tide levels were. They haven't changed.
Interesting. Perhaps someone on our side should start a rumor that this type of action has been started and all samples should be tested. The MSM will run with it and the rats will demand an investigation-push their button.
seen half so far
Possibly so !
