I have the same reaction. It is a “feel-good” story and happy for the 88 year old vet but am sure there thousands—if not millions—of elderly Americans out there who have been dealt a poorer hand in the game of life. At 85 myself, I know being able to work as an octogenarian is probably more of a blessing than misfortune given the availability of social security and veteran’s benefits for which the old vet may qualify. This is story less about righting some wrongs than it is artificial benevolence.
