I think what people forget about having cats and dogs as pets is that these are small predators, but they are predators. If cats were bigger, they’d pose the same risk as dogs. People I know who are highly knowledgeable about dogs would never have that many dogs together, and if they did, would establish and maintain clear alpha dominance, with a whole battery of carrots *and* sticks. And aggression from any single dog would be met with the kind of assertive ruthlessness that Kristi Noem displayed with her dog, lest the rest acquire bad habits from that dog either in terms of pack behavior or aggressiveness.
