This hole in the ozone has been a news story since I was in grade school in the late 1970s / early 1980s. It grows, it shrinks. But its always a reason for the hysterics on the news to try to get everyone in a state of panic.

When was the last time that there wasn’t a hole in the ozone layer?

It was going to get bigger, we were told, and the world would begin boiling from heat, crops would burn from acid rain, and cities would be uninhabitable thanks to smog.

Did that Antarctic volcano finally quiet down?

“always a reason for the hysterics on the news to try to get everyone in a state of panic”

That’s standard operating procedure for legacy media.

Two days before Thanksgiving my local lefty tv news station had a story about turkey shortages this year. I never heard one word about that anywhere else.

Then one day before Thanksgiving they were at it again, warning about “food born illnesses” at Thanksgiving dinner.

Can’t just let people have a peaceful happy holiday, always gotta try and hike their leg on it.

We don’t hate the media enough.

Ozone/Shmozone....

The biggest problem the world has is that the ocean’s temperature is rising...

The reason for that is people pissing in the oceans...

That MUST STOP!!!!!!!!!!!

The switch to unleaded gasoline might have had something to do with this.

I bought an old(1977) Simplicity Snowblower because it could throw snow farther than anything else ever made.
However, it had an old Briggs & Stratton engine with a downdraft carb.

It did not run well on unleaded, even super. So, I started buying 110 octane leaded racing fuel at Haffner’s here in NH.
It ran great on that, BUT every time I used it my clothes STANK so much from the exhaust from burning that fuel. Not to mention it probably was not good for me to breath!

I remember growing up in WNY in the 60s & 70s. December 15th ish, 1976 was the earliest on record that Lake Erie froze over. That eventually led to the Blizzard of 77 that hit Buffalo. The next year was the Noreaster that hit Boston leaving thousands stranded on Rt 128.
Some time around there Time magazine had the cover story asking whether we were going into another ice age.

When I got to college at Syracuse a few years later all I heard about was the lakes up in the Adirondacks becoming so acidic that they would be dead forever because the high PH cold never support life. This all being caused supposedly by the coal fired power plants in OH, WV & PA.

From then on all we heard about was Global Warming. It made Al Gore, and several others rich. Selling fear.

TODAY (just this past week) Jay Peak, the northern most mountain in the Green Mountains of Vermont broke the record for the earliest EVER to reach 100 inches of snow recorded.

follow the link to their snow report (now 120”) another 7” in the last two days.
They have two web cams too via that link

That's what I have always said....the Universe is ever changing BECAUSE it is self balancing...

So stop all the farts, eliminate cars, destroy forests....and mother nature will take it from there.

“Climate Alarmists Hardest Hit”

Prolly not. Now they can claim that the trillions of dollars spent on fighting “climate change” is finally paying off . . .

Well...this was never a climate issue. It was an issue allegedly relating to CFC's, which were banned. It was said at that time that if the CFC's were banned, the ozone hole would close over time.

I have no idea if the science behind that was correct, BUT the fact that the ozone whole is shrinking doesn't contradict what they were claiming at the time. That's actually what they said would happen.

I still remember in 1988 when Ted Danson warned that both coasts will be under water in 10 years unless we DO SOMETHING about the ozone hole. Too bad he can’t go back to his old gig as Sam the bartender in Cheers. At least that was somewhat entertaining

Back around 2005 or so I was on a flight seated next to a grey haired woman who I could tell was a flaming liberal. She told me of how she had moved to Africa in 1970 because she didn’t like what the US was doing in Vietnam. She brought up “global warming”, and asked me what I thought about it. I told her that I thought the whole thing was made up, and it was just a power play. Obviously taken aback by this she adjusted herself in her seat and asked me why I thought that. I replied “How’s the ozone hole doing?” She looked confused. “You haven’t heard about it recently have you? Remember when it was going to kill us all?” And then I saw the light bulb come on in her eyes. She replies “Oh yeah, I remember that! And you’re right, we’ve not heard anything about that in DECADES”. I replied “That’s right, and that’s what this is. It’s just the latest version of the ozone hole.
