The Boy Scouts of America was officially chartered by Congress in 1916 for one purpose:
That the purpose of this corporation shall be to promote, through organization and co-operation with other agencies, the ability of boys to do things for themselves and others, to train them in scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self- reliance and kindred virtues.
While that official charter did not necessarily make the Boy Scouts of America an official part of the U.S. government, it has given them many perks over the years.
Like for example, the law that gives The Boy Scouts of America access to military bases, their facilities, and the use of their vehicles at the discretion of the Secretary of Defense.
NPR reports that those perks are coming to an end under Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is planning for the military to sever all ties with Scouting America, saying the group once known as the Boy Scouts is no longer a meritocracy and has become an organization designed to ‘attack boy-friendly spaces,' according to documents reviewed by NPR.
Hegseth criticizes Scouting for being ‘genderless' and for promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
‘The organization once endorsed by President Theodore Roosevelt no longer supports the future of American boys.'
NPR is pretty sure Hegseth lacks the legal authority to do this because these are laws passed by Congress.
However, the law says the support comes at the discretion of the Secretary, and the law also says that the support should go to "The Boy Scouts of America," an organization that doesn't exist anymore.
The Boy Scouts of America officially changed their name to Scouting America this year, and it isn't the same organization that received the congressional charter in 1916; it's not even the same organization referred to in the law allowing military resources to be used in its meetings.
"The purpose of turning boys into virtuous men as described in the original charter has been systematically replaced with gay leaders and gay scouts, girl scouts, and even all-girl troops that disallow boys from joining at all."

Recently I saw some of these "Scouting America" people outside my grocery store soliciting.
The leader appeared to be a female that was doing everything possible to look like a dude.
Super short hair, ball cap and all the rest of it......it's very sad that such a great institution like the BSA has been hijacked by the alphabet people and turned into such a perverted organization.

The demise of Boy Scouts started years ago actually...
I once guided trout fishing around the Great Smoky Mtns Nat’l Park...
I had noticed quite a bit of litter along the river banks and got an idea...I told the leader of a Boy Scout troop in Knoxville that I would take them trout fishing and furnish rods, reels and lures if they would spend a couple hours walking the banks and picking up litter...
He said no, that they were busy learning and studying about computers...That did it for me as far as “scouting” was concerned...
I thought this was already a done deal.
Sad, but...the Boy Scouts of America is, and has been for some time, dead.

And most of it is INTENTIONAL.
In 1988, my wife and I had to bury our 13-year-old son who died as a result of an auto accident. We buried him in his Boy Scout uniform. The Boy Scouts of America still existed then and we were proud he was a very active member. He had achieved the rank of Life Scout. We have kept his merit badge sash.
Those who have destroyed that wonderful organization should be forever ashamed of themselves but THEY HAVE NO SHAME.
Kudos to Pete Hegseth ! I salute you, sir, in the proud memory of The (REAL) Boy Scouts of America.
Turning Boy Scouting into scouting boys!
I know longer buy Girl Scout Cookies and when there is a stand, I tell them that when they stop supporting abortion, I’ll buy their cookies again.
How terrible...you have my sympathy.
The Boy Scouts were once a great organization that helped many boys become men.
Those skills I learned regarding first aid, survival, etc. I first learned as a Scout. And I have always seen value in Scouting, an activity where boys could be around other boys and work in a group.
It isn’t the “No Girls Allowed” mentality. It was the recognition that boys, especially teenage boys, behave one way when they are around boys where they can be taught the difference between the undesirable choice of being a “gang” of boys, and the desirable goal of learning to work as a team with other boys, a skillset that will last them their whole lives.
But when even one girl is present at that age, their behavior as boys is no longer channeled into working as a team, it is, due to biology, turned to competition for the attention and favors of a girl.
Biology at that age simply dictates it. And they destroyed it both by allowing girls to participate, and by allowing open homosexuality.
Good! The BSA is a homosexual playground now.
Agreed - liberals have destroyed the Boy Scouts, education, religion, the family unit and letting boys be boys and girls be girls.
Its really the Boy Scouts anymore. The left has managed to destroy everything good and pure that helps boys become responsible capable men.

End Scouting America and start up a new organization called “The Boy Scouts of America.” Rule number one: Your at sex birth determines eligibility to join.
As a boy scout some of our weekend trips to local state parks back in the 60s we would spend a few hours re-doing and making walking trails.
I guess the new name must be “Scouting America”?
Ugh. Well, they can keep that. As you said, go back to the original name.

The Boy Scouts started collapsing in the 1980s when men started leaving their kids.
When men would rather abandon their homes because things got difficult…the children suffer. It takes a while, but this is what you get: Women running things and the government raising your kids.
