WASHINGTON (AP) — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, a loyal supporter-turned-critic of President Donald Trump who faced his political retribution if she sought reelection, said Friday she is resigning from Congress in January.
Greene, in a more than 10-minute video posted online, explained her decision and said she didn’t want her congressional district “to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the president we all fought for,” she said.
The opening in her district means Republican Gov. Brian Kemp will have to set a special election date within 10 days of Greene’s resignation. Such a special election would fill out the remainder of Greene’s term through January 2027. Those elections could take place before the party primaries in May for the next two-year term.

America would be far better off with fewer schizoid post menapausal women in high office. Never before has an advanced civilization has so many old ladies elected or appointed to high office. This has been happening in the US over the past sixty years and has been a disaster for the country.

Mamdani or Saudi prince’s praises. The same way there’s nothing wrong with MTG and other conservatives using liberal platforms to share their views.
What IS sad is the GOP in-fighting.
Trump is abandoning MAGA not the other way around.
There are a few stalwart posters who recognize this and have been saying it for a while now.
Perhaps more should listen to them... ?
Trump wont be on a ballot again so he’s being reckless with this attitude in my opinion.
Never cared for her, at all, but Trump’s actions were asinine and unnecessary.
He’s kinder to Mamdami and Isis murderers than Greene and Massi. In fact he kisses the formers’ asses in the oval office.
