Islam started with Jewish Sadducee leaders, prayers, calendar and sharia. And the Saducees hated the oral Torah - those and that which covered (kufr) the written text.
Rabbi Ben Abrahamson devotes a website showing that Muslims descend from Torah-only Jews: Sadducees.
Red Judaism explains how Jews started Islam, how Abu Bakr was a Sadducee and how Shafi sharia is identical to saducee rulings. This links to presentations by Lloyd de jongue.

Abu Bakr al-Siddiq means Abu Bakr βthe saduceeβ.
Tachkastan (also known as Da shi ε€§ι£ or Tashik in Tang Chinese and Tayyaye in Syriac Tayy in Arabic Tazigan/Tashih/Tachk/Tajik) was at first primarily a Messianic Noahide state establshed for the Erev Rav in south Iraq which gained independence under the Ma'amed of Hani ibn Qabisa's Miaphysite Noahide faction at the battle of Dhi Qar in 622 (the year of the Arabs).
The first known independent Rulers over Tachkastan's Quasi-Manichean Noahite Erev Rav included:
- 622 The Nabi Rosh al-Ma'amed Hanzlah ibn Abi Qabisa appointed by Hani ibn Qabisa at the Battle of Dhi Qar
- c.630 The Himyarite Jew Abu Bakr who ruled the Quasi-Manichean Noahites in Hira and made alliance with Edessa's Jews.

A) During the "Repetition of the Shemonah Esrei", the calculation of Rabbinic and Islamic Ra'akat's are the same.
A)Saying Oseh Shalom at the end of prayers.
C) Washing three times before prayer (wudu) corresponds to the three gates entered to bring a sacrifice. Thus a Muslim today, washing his hands three times, has a unbroken connection to Temple of Solomon.

Calendar Correspondence of the Islamic and Jewish calendars; for example
- the 9th of Av / Pilgrimage became the 9th of Dhu'al-Hijjah / Hajj
- The 10th of Muharram/Tishrei was called Ashura/Aseri (Yom Kippur) and 1st was called Ras as Sana/Rosh Hashana, parallel between the Jewish counting of the Omer and Ramadan.

The Muslim shafi sharia is identical to the Sadducee rulings.

βIbn Hazm records Al Saduqiyyh: This sect associates itself with a person called Saduq (Zadok). Differing with all other Jews, they regard Uzayr (Ezra) as the son of G-d. They live in Yemen. (Ibn Hazm's Kitab al-Fasl fi al-Milal wa al-Ahwa wa al-Nihal)β

So it is a heresy? Thatβs what Belloc said.
Basically it would be heretical Torah only Judaism.
It may also explain why some Jews have an affinity for Islam, because they view it as a sister faith to themselves.
Bkmk
Now, there may have been some Jews around that had practices similar to the 1st century Sadducees at the time of Mohammed, but they were not "Sadducees".
Islam has no similarity to the Torah, which is the first five books of the Bible.
Not to mention, the Sadducees were most noted in the NT as believing there is no resurrection; in general, Islam does believe in a resurrection.
According to Islamic tradition, Muhammad received religious instruction from Waraqa ibn Nawfal, a Christian relative of his wife Khadija, following his first revelation.
Waraqa, described as a Christian who had studied the scriptures of the Torah and the Gospel, recognized Muhammad as a prophet and confirmed the divine nature of his message.
This encounter is reported in classical Islamic biographies, such as those by A. Guillaume, which state that Khadija took Muhammad to Waraqa after the initial revelation, and Waraqa affirmed that the revelation was from God.
Beyond Waraqa, some sources suggest that Muhammad may have learned about Christianity through everyday interactions with Christians in Mecca, including slaves and merchants, rather than formal instruction.
For instance, a narration cited in Islamic sources mentions that Muhammad often sat with a Christian slave named Jabr, and some accounts suggest that Jabr was a significant source of knowledge about Christianity for Muhammad.
However, critics argue that the Quran’s portrayal of Christian doctrine contains inaccuracies, such as misrepresentations of the Trinity and the claim that Mary was the sister of Aaron, which they interpret as evidence of limited or flawed understanding.
What absolute nonsense. Yes, Mohammed copied a huge amount of Jewish rituals in his attempt to persuade the Jews of Medina that he was the “final” Jewish prophet. But the Jews laughed him out, and he was enraged. The rest is a sad, bloody history.
Not quite. The Quran was written like people write "fan fiction" of Star Wars. He includes events from the Torah such as the creation of Adam, the flood of Noah, and the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt, and the Patriarchs.
He even ridiculously retells the binding of Issac but with Ishmael in his place, and - reflecting his bloodthirsty nature - actually has Abraham draw blood from Ishmael's neck before the angel stops him. Then, absurdly, he claims that Abraham and Ishmael built their stupid "Kaaba" idol in Mecca, despite the fact that Abraham never stepped foot in Arabia, and the Kaaba was built 2,621 years after Abraham's death.
Right. A way I heard to remember which are the Sadducees and which are the Pharisees.
The Sadducees are “sad, you see” that there isn’t a Resurrection to look forward to.
I think it was Satan actually.
It’s the reason Mohammed get “ridden” by several al-Zutt men all night and then has trouble walking back to the recorded of the hadith. Also the Muslim hate for women mimics Satan’s hate for women.
If a literary comparison must be made in the fan fiction vein, the most accurate would be “mirror universe” stories.
Islam: Jewsβ Fault?!?!?
Sounds like confusion with Karaites, who are noted around the time of the rise of Islam. Karaites have some minority unlikely claim to continuous connection with Sadducees. But not even Sadducees seen connected to Islam.
How would someone imagine such a connection? Trying for some Mosaic-based credibility?
Correct.
Exactly.

William Federer talked about his book, What Every American Needs to Know About the Qur’an: A History of Islam and the United States. He used slides as he talked about the political and military aspects of the life of Muhammad and how they inform Islam.
Nobody is saying that it was done deliberately. However, not being at fault does not mean playing a part
The Ishmaelites, not the Sadducees...
