A Mississippi college student was arrested for allegedly hurling an antisemitic comment at Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy as he filmed a pizza review, according to authorities and reports.

Patrick McClintock, 20, was arrested Monday after a viral video allegedly captured him yelling, “F–k the Jews” toward Portnoy, who is Jewish, as he filmed a “One Bite” pizza review in Starkville on Friday, The Starkville Police Department confirmed to the Reflector, Mississippi State University’s student newspaper. McClintock was a junior and a mechanical engineering major at Mississippi State University, the university’s campus paper reported.

He voluntarily withdrew from MSU as a student on Monday afternoon, a university spokesperson confirmed to The Post.

I think the comment is repugnant but there is no way he should have been arrested for it, even for misdemeanor disturbing the peace. That is a slippery slope that the Woke Left will take and run with in their battle to criminalize speech.

The First Amendment reads "shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech" so how then is speech not legal if no law shall be made against it ?

I read the Second Greatest Commandment in the Law of Moses as having the quality of absolute.

Along with hurling an antisemitic insult, not enough by itself imo but enough under the Mississippi and most states statutes, he threw coins, and most importantly disrupted the gathering. IMO the arrest is consistent with the Mississippi statute

(1) Any person who disturbs the public peace, or the peace of others, by violent, or loud, or insulting, or profane, or indecent, or offensive, or boisterous conduct or language, or by intimidation, or seeking to intimidate any other person or persons, or by conduct either calculated to provoke a breach of the peace, or by conduct which may lead to a breach of the peace, or by any other act, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail not more than six (6) months, or both.

(2) The act of breast-feeding shall not constitute a breach of the peace.

(3) The provisions of this section are supplementary to the provisions of any other statute of this state.

Coins. The kid was yelling “F*ck the Jews” at Portnoy and throwing coins at him.

Portnoy was taping one of his “pizza reviews” that he does around the country. These can be amusing free publicity for local mom & pop stores. He has a huge internet following so this is a good deal for them. Just a fun skit for his internet show.

A campus cop decided to put a stop to it. Because apparently Starkville has yet to interpret verbal assault and throwing stuff at people as “free speech”, unlike Portland Oregon and various freepers.

Portnoy, like Chef Andy Gruel here in Orange County, gave away a lot of his own money to help mom and pop restaurants survive the 2020 forced closures. Portnoy was able to do that because he had sold his Barstool Sports creation to Penn Entertainment for well over a hundred million bucks. Neither of them brag about their charity. Neither does Trump, who has done similar acts of charity for decades.
