Hi everyone,

This video is the first of two videos to be released containing the remaining footage we have from Andrew, the Desert Drifter. As many of you know, on January 30-31, 2025, Andrew took his last adventure into the desert to explore and film. As he was returning on the night of January 31, 2025, he was struck from behind by a drunk driver while sitting at a red light four minutes from his home. He suffered a very serious brain injury and ultimately passed on March 4, 2025.

After the car accident, Andrew's best friend and dad climbed into the wreckage of his car to retrieve his cameras. While they were banged up, we were all surprised that they functioned enough to allow us to download the footage.

It has taken a lot of courage from myself, our family, and our friends to watch and rewatch this content to get it edited and ready to post. It feels special to get to share this final content from Andrew with you all, and I want to thank everyone who stepped up to help us do our best to produce an Andrew-worthy video without his voice over narration and personal editing style.

Please keep an eye out in the coming weeks for part two. As throughout every step of this journey, we have appreciated your grace, patience, and support. This community continues to astound me.

With love,
Evelyn

Hi everyone,

This video is the second part of the two video segment containing the remaining footage we have from Andrew, the Desert Drifter. Both parts, about an hour, no transcript included from moi, it probably doesn't make sense to have one. Enjoy.

I love the Desert Drifter videos and am savings these last ones until I have seen all his other work.
I’ve watched some other hiking videos but nothing has come close to his quality so far.

The guy who killed him pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide. He is to be sentenced in December. Hope he gets what he deserves.

I’ve been watching him for a while and have really enjoyed his videos. I didn’t even know about his accident until just last week. I was watching another hiker’s video and he was dedicating it to him. It really caught me off guard and actually upset me, more than I would have expected over someone I didn’t know personally. He seemed like a nice young man.

No doubt that Evelyn had in mind the following verse when editing the footage.

Mathew 7:13-14:

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

The narrow road not only leads to eternal life, but to an abundant and fulfilling life on earth as well.

Thank you for posting this SC. I followed Andrew alarmist from his start. Encourage people to read the comments for each video. There is always that tidbit of knowledge or reflection that brings a greater depth and appreciation to the lives of the ancestors or us today in our walk. Also, thank you for what you do and for the richness you add to FR.
