Bomb first, ask questions “never” makes zero constitutional sense and even less practical sense. I still have questions about the survivors from Ecuador and Colombia. Either they’re drug traffickers, in which case they should be tried and locked up, or they’re not. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that people who value the Constitution and due process are skeptical.

Due Process is really intended for American citizens. I don’t think Jefferson gave the Barbary pirates Due Process when taking them on with the military.
Well, according to the international law of high seas, they SHOULD be returned to the country of origin, to be tried there.

Personally, I don’t think the drug runners of a foreign country that are smuggling poison into other countries are covered by our Constitution. What due process are they owed in the US? I don’t think those people who have lost a loved one from drug overdose will have a problem with what Trump is doing. Rand is entitled to his opinion but sometimes I believe he just wants attention and to play the devil’s advocate.
We’ll blow them up next time.

Stop the boats, off load the people and sink the drugs.

I kinda think you hit the nail on the head. The US Constitution is for US Citizens. PERIOD. All others need to strive for US citizenship to be protected by it.
Foreigners not flying the US flag on the high seas delivering illegal and dangerous goods to the US are getting what they deserve.

Traditionally, some sort of permission from Congress was required when the president wanted to use the Army. But the president was given more latitude when it came to the Navy.
This makes sense.
