This is such a game changer. Now the old argument of "I have photoshop", "I have autocad", "I have Microsoft Office" is not a blocker anymore.
I like how this video has some of a "how-to" aspect to it showing that setting this up is fairly simple.

I will test it with Access 2013 and FileMaker Pro.

LOL I literally still use MS Visual Studio 2013 a lot for my personal software development. Why not? It’s paid for.

I am a big fan of FileMaker Pro! I have been using it since around 1989 or so...but now retired, so I don’t use it anymore.

A lot of the probelms with thi gs like wine, lutrix etc is that they dont do gpu passthrough which is needed for progams like photoshop, rebelle, onone etc so that they can take full advantage of video card.
I havent wq5ched the video yet, but w9ndering how it solves that issue. Will watch i5 though

I was going to say, that would be the real test. The graphics processing. To really test it, I’d see if I could install and run a windows based game and see how fluid it is.

I run “windows” games on linux througn steam and it is quite fluid. I have a prgram that uses heavy gpu p4ocessing called rebelle. Its a painting program 9n the computer- ill likely do the winboat install, and run r3belle and see if it runs on or not. I also have onone which is ai which i beleive uses gpu horsepower quite a bit, and will install that and try too.
IF these work, and work well, i am done with windows altogether.
I had tried photoshop in a virtusl machine before with wine, and just was not impressed with the performwnce- we’ll see how Winboat handles it

This is a reason to go back to using a computer, rather than pecking on a smartphone, after all these years.
I’m gonna run an old mining rig with this and let you know how it goes when I get back from DC.

Absolutely. I stopped using big tech years ago due to many limitations but these companies have become insanely woke so if I can help get people off their platforms I’m all for it. That is, Google, Microsoft, and Apple. It’s time for a good Bud Light’ing.
