I bought mine because it was time to replace my wife's gas crossover anyway and we drive it tons of miles (18K miles per year on home charged miles alone). By math, 12K miles per year is the threshold where the gas and oil change savings more than offsets the extra costs of an EV. (Based on 2022 prices of EV's vs gas cars.) That plus my interest in being more energy self-reliant to reduce the Dims' control-freak energy policies' ability to impact our budget while we move into retirement. So I have tons of solar (I can't produce my own natural gas or gasoline, but I can produce my own power).
(I can’t produce my own natural gas or gasoline, but I can produce my own power).
It makes good sense then.
