I'm going to disagree with that student. I was a student in the early 1990s. It was ragingly liberal. One example - Father Drinan, the abortion supporting, Democrat Congressman priest, was teaching there in the 1980s and 1990s. It was an abomonation.

I guess it mattered which department a person studied in. An acquaintance went there in the Oughts and yes, he did hear that tariffs were bad and Soros was good, but is a resolute conservative today, based on his own observations of national events--and fortunately, friendships with people who had grown up under oppression elsewhere.
