Tylenol has come under fresh scrutiny after a 2017 post resurfaced in which the brand appeared to warn pregnant women against using its products.
The tweet, now being widely shared, stated: 'We actually don't recommend taking any of our products while pregnant.'
It has been seized on by the White House just days after President Donald Trump claimed the common painkiller — known as generic paracetamol in Britain and generic acetaminophen in the US — may cause autism.
His remarks provoked outrage from doctors, who said there is 'no robust evidence' for such claims. Britain's regulator, the MHRA, also stressed: 'There is no evidence that taking paracetamol during pregnancy causes autism in children.'
And Dr Nechama Sorscher, a New York-based leading pediatric neuropsychologist and psychotherapist, told Daily Mail: 'Research on acetaminophen and autism does not prove definitive causation.'
Even so, the official White House account yesterday reposted the 2017 Tylenol tweet alongside a photo of the president holding a hat reading 'Trump Was Right About Everything,' while the US Department of Health & Human Services shared it too, adding: 'No caption needed.'
When the Daily Mail approached Kenvue, which manufactures Tylenol, it issued the following statement: 'This eight-year-old consumer response is incomplete and did not address our full guidance on the safe use of Tylenol.'
A spokesman added that paracetamol and acetaminophen remain the safest painkiller options for pregnant women — but stressed that any over-the-counter medicine should only be taken after consulting a doctor.
Current Tylenol packaging advises: 'If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.'

That’s not the only tweet.
but it’s Acetaminophen not the company
I know. There are warnings on the label as well.
Democrat doctors, mostly.
Hillary could have told them. “Wipe the computers, you mean, like with a cloth?” Along with a high price expert tech group to do deep scrubbing of all evidence and then blast the laptops with hammers. BitBleach or scandal. Choose one.
Is the controversy because they spoke of pregnant women instead of pregnant people?
There are a LOT of Dem supporting doctors and even more nurses.
Several stories I’ve cited before.
The joke by Ronald Reagan to surgeons about to hold his life in their hands in emergency surgery for gunshot wound: “I hope you’re all Republicans.” No longer a joke.
Jesse Watters asked last week: “How would you feel entering a hospital for surgery knowing most of the doctors are woke types who hate Trump?” Don’t let it slip you are for Trump.
“seized on by the White House “
Typical of the Trump hating idiots at the Mail. Trump is trying to stop damage being done to children for crying out load
Trump didn’t establish the link. He just reported it.
Right - other name brand drugs can contain acetaminophen, and there are numerous private label products that contain it. Singling out “Tylenol” could mislead as to what is being discussed here and make some people not realize “Tylenol” is the brand, not the drug in question and they could consume this in other products.
I always try to avoid anything that also contains acetominophen as an extra.
And there is much more out there.
There is no causal link proven, but when it is you babies health and long term well being at stake, is it worth the chance?
Too much too often of anything like this can cause the same issues. It is probably actually best to rotate between different types of medicines that treat the things acetaminophen does when you have an ailment vs. piling on the same medicine to avoid concentration of any one thing and your body can flush it out. Many people can be allergic or have reactions to other types of meds other than acetaminophen, unfortunately.
There is a Johns Hopkins one as well.
Granted, the ailments it treats can cause worse issues than autism if not treated during pregnancy...and if that is the only thing the pregnant mother can take (ie allergic to other types of medications or they are even more dangerous for a pregnant mother to take), you have to do what you have to do. But all things must be considered. That doesn’t mean because another issue could exist without taking it that other issues could potentially exist to take it - people on both sides acting like it is an either/or issue. It is not. But we are talking about a very early developing human organism being exposed to substances and the reality that can have more effect on them than an adult or even older child.
Maybe what causes autism is what causes headaches in the mother, some inflammatory state perhaps.
So taking acetaminophen is perhaps only a marker for headache, pain, inflammation during pregnancy, and not a cause in itself.

Took a day to find that tweet. And here I sit still waiting for the release of the Epstein files.
