Security officers have “neutralized” a drone over government buildings in central Warsaw, and two Belarusian citizens have been detained, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Monday amid heightened regional tensions following recent airspace violations.
“A moment ago, the Government Security Service neutralized a drone operating over government buildings (Parkowa Street) and Belweder,” Tusk posted on the X platform. The Belweder Palace is one of the Polish president’s official residences.
“Two citizens of Belarus have been arrested,” Tusk added. “Police are investigating.”

The incident comes with Poland on alert after a wave of Russian drones entered Polish airspace during an unprecedented large-scale incursion last Wednesday.
Those violations saw Western jets downing Russian targets for the first time during the conflict in Ukraine and stoked fresh fears in a region that has been on edge since Moscow unleashed its war in 2022.
Tusk warned at the time that the violations were “the closest we have been to open conflict since World War II.”
Parkowa Street in the Polish capital, the site of Wednesday’s incident, lies in a district that houses government buildings, the Belweder Palace and foreign embassies. The Russian embassy is also nearby.
The area is designated a no-fly zone for drones unless operators secure a permit, and violations are punishable by up to five years in prison, according to Warsaw City Hall's official website.

Why is Ukraine doing this to Poland?
I don’t believe for one moment Russia is goofy enough to do this. Ukraine has a reason to whip up NATO intervention.
Sick of it.
Because there are people stupid enough to believe Russia wants to provoke a war with NATO who eat this stuff up.
Ukraine? You must have access to some mighty sensitive secrets. Care to share?
Just because Russia has attacked and seized territry from its neighbors multiple times in the past 20 years and its government has repeatedly stated its desire to absorb more former Soviet states and bring former Warsaw Pact vassals back under its control, who could believe Russia is responsible?
What would Russia have to gain by droning Poland?

It's called well-known past history. You might want to catch up on it sometime so you can understand what's going on today.
Western aid for Ukraine is primarily shipped through Poland.
The point is to intimidate the Poles (LOL) while stopping short of an Article 5 invocation or even better, create a provocation that's great enough to get one state to invoke Article 5 and but then ambiguous enough to be ignored by the United States or other European powers, effectively destroying the alliance by hardly firing a shot.
I don’t trust Tusk for anything he says.

A previous article posted here indicated the initial group of drones being off course was likely a product of electronic warfare. Thats believable. It was taken care of via diplomatic channels.
You could say so since many of its citizens colluded with the Nazis to round up the Jews in their neighborhoods, even helped murder them.
