He was invariably polite, funny, understanding and accepting of his opponents views, while clearly stating his own. All with a full dose of verifiable facts, statistics, history, real science, and common sense. He jumped on every opportunity to find things they could agree on, without for a moment backtracking on the disagreements.
His courage and decency is what made him so effective. Well, that and innate brilliance. And it was his effectiveness, and the hate for all that's decent in our world which the American Democratic Party has decided to ride like devils on hellhounds, is what led to his martyrdom.
It's going to take me a while to get past the desire to avenge him. I know it's the very last thing he'd want done. Problem is, the provocation hasn't ceased and I feel like a coiled spring.
