If you believe you were born into the wrong body, it is a small step to being at war with reality.
“If you believe you were born into the wrong body, it is a small step to being at war with reality.”
I don’t doubt it. In 1976 I met a man who thought he was in the wrong body. That is the only experience I have on the subject.
He was tall (about 6’2”) and gentle. His father was an Army Colonel. I expect his dad was disappointed, to say the least. I imagine that the dad seemed overbearing to the young boy who then took refuge with his mother and perhaps other women, friends and family.
I imagine that the boy did not live up to the expectations of his father. At some point, he was given an easy out: “I’m a girl.”
My mother once said that “to understand all is to forgive all.” Perhaps. However, a flight from reality will not end well.
