Same drink, different year — and, hopefully, different result. That's Mark Thomas Lynn's approach to the relaunch of Afterdream, a cannabis drink, this year.
His company — the premium spirits and beverage company AMASS Brands Group — originally released its THC-infused formulation in 2021, but they pulled it off the market after about nine months due to legal hurdles around where and how they could sell the drink.
"Even though people were going crazy over the product, we were like, 'Oh my God, this is just too byzantine,'" he says. "The regulations, basically, hadn't caught up." After re-releasing Afterdream in May of this year, AMASS is hoping its second rodeo will be more successful. The regulatory environment is still challenging, but it's not a complete mess, and they think more consumers will give it a shot.

I think he is hypocritical. He never says anything about a Starbucks on every corner, while saying that THC gummies are aimed at teenagers.
Not a big coffee fan either.
Discuss and flame away.
Something is causing the rise in mental illness.
I don’t see hypocrisy in having different attitudes toward caffeine and THC.
Imagine that you have your choice of two pilots to fly you and your family in a jet aircraft: Pilot A smoked two joints an hour ago. Pilot B drank two espressos an hour ago. Which pilot would you prefer?
I use THC as pain relief from arthritis symptoms. Works like a charm.
I know people who are always drinking coffee.
Not anti coffee, just saying there is a coffee shop every 100 feet in some airports, but I could imagine the uproar, if the government decided to regulate coffee.
Tried the gummies. Don’t like the loss of function and loss of short-term memory. Watching TV is worthless. Every new scene on the same show is like a whole new show and I can’t remember what just happened but for some reason recognize the same characters. Now I sort of know what it was like for my mother with Alzheimer’s. Don’t need to recreate that on purpose for myself.
Legalized pot is a huge problem and turning pot into a drink is a very bad idea that is going to cause even worse problems
BTTT
Stick with Indica. Sativa tends to put my arthritis pain into overdrive, not fun.
To maintain control over the Russian people the Tzar pushed vodka. The idea was to keep the people so stoned that they wouldn’t revolt. The same is true of marihuana. While I have known people who were smart and productive and who used pot, I’ve known far more people who were stoned, nonproductive and unemployed. Because drugs modify brain cells they are especially damaging to underaged youth. Legalizing drugs will, in the future, be blamed for many problems we see already, but are blamed on other causes.
Gummies are aimed at kids, so he is right. They bitched about cigarettes and are now pushing pot which smells even worse.
I wonder if they truly are trying to dumb down the whole population. It is the only explanation I got for support for faggotry, Trans, and other woke crap being pushed and encouraged the last 10 years.
The Chinese revenge for the opium dens.
I’d still take “cinque espressi” guy over the stoner. The former might be pretty wired but he’s very unlikely to be in a bout of paranoia or delusion as happens sometimes to the THC folks.
Not even the same argument. Coffee doesn’t make you fall asleep and get stupid. THC and pot does. Only a stoner would even think to make that comparison.
“Imagine that you have your choice of two pilots to fly you and your family in a jet aircraft: Pilot A smoked two joints an hour ago. Pilot B drank two espressos an hour ago. Which pilot would you prefer?”
The purpose of flight is to get high. Pilot A was there before he ever got to the airport. No brainer.
No one is making the arguement that you should actually fly planes when you are high.
As a frequent THC enjoyer, I do understand that the same common sense rules we used to have about alcohol mostly work with THC as well. Don’t get high and fly planes, drive buses, do brain surgery, etc. But if it’s the weekend and you have nothing going on and want to smoke a joint instead of drinking than go for it. It’s probably a little bit healthier than booze and it serves the same purpose.

“I go flying so high when I’m stoned.”
“All good things got to come to an end
It’s the same with the wildwood weeds
One day this feller from Washington come by
And spied ‘em and turned white as a sheet
And he dug and he burned
And he burned and he dug
And he killed all our cute little weeds
And then he drove away
We just smiled and waved
Sittin’ there on that sack o’ seeds”.

Weekends it’s Sativa and the beach. Wandering around in the ocean helps.
