the former vice president announced on Wednesday that she won't be running to be the next governor of California in 2026.

That would improve her odds, greatly.

Being governor is usually a great pathway to the presidency.

But, for a Democrat being governor of California at this point in history is analogous to having the proverbial millstone place around your neck.

California is a veritable fiscal Blackhole waiting to swallow any politician stupid enough to get elected there.

The Bankruptcy of California is not an IF but a WHEN.

There is no conceivable way out of that fate. Any candidate for Governor of California has to know that, unless he has a plan for getting out of that morass looking like a hero, it is a career ender.

It worked for Richard Nixon. Although he did not become Governor.
