I have not watched SNL since 1997 or so. Phil Hartman was one of the best back then. I was shocked when his crazy wife killed him.

It was the mid 80’s for me. Maybe they should revamp the show to just have a bunch of Gen Z’ers sitting around a room staring at their phones and letting out an occasional laugh.

I stopped a few years earlier than that when I had my babies and was not staying up to watch late night TV. I remember Hartman well. So sad about his murder!

SNL stopped being any good around 1994 or so when they fired en masse, the last good cast they had. Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Phil Hartman. All of those were gone by 1996. What did they replace them with? The never funny Will Farrell and several others you’ve never heard of.
