Two illegal migrants have been hit with federal charges for the shooting of an off-duty US Customs and Border Protection officer who took a bullet to the face during a violent Manhattan robbery, officials announced Thursday.
Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, 21, was charged with possession of ammunition by an illegal alien, and fellow Dominican Republic national Christhian Aybar-Berroa, 22, was hit with accessory after the fact for the July 19 shooting, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Mora Nunez is accused of shooting the 42-year-old officer — who fired back with his own gun during the confrontation Saturday in Fort Washington Park — while Aybar-Berroa allegedly helped with the robbery, officials said.
“As alleged, Miguel Mora Nunez and Christhian Aybar-Berroa came to a New York City park and Mora Nunez opened fire—hitting a federal officer in the face,” US Attorney Jay Clayton said in a statement.
“Gun violence will not go unanswered. Our office will relentlessly pursue anyone who threatens the safety of New Yorkers and the federal officers sworn to protect them.”
The federal agent and a female companion were sitting on a rock along the Hudson River in the upper Manhattan park when they were ambushed by the two men on a moped around 11:50 p.m., according to the complaint.
Just minutes earlier, the pair of illegals had allegedly stolen a cellphone from another woman in the park before a masked Mora Nunez got off the moped and approached the victims from behind while brandishing a firearm.
The alleged perp shot the agent in the face and right arm before the officer drew his own pistol and opened fire, striking the gun-toting migrant in the leg and groin.

Hopefully he lost his ability to reproduce.
“Gun violence will not go unanswered…”
It will if that muzzie gets in
Mora Nunez was accused of shooting, but was only charged with possession of ammunition. What?
Charged with enough to hold him in custody until enough of a case can be brought to charge him with more. I believe there is a 48 hour window to file initial charges. It happens.

I wish the writer had given an update on the victim’s status.
AI answer:
Condition of the officer: The officer is in stable condition and is expected to survive his injuries.
He suffered a broken jaw and a bullet lodged in his throat but is alert and communicating through hand gestures

That’s one tough cop - I hope he ruined some “jewels”.... if not, maybe they ought to do some “bottom surgery” before jailing/deporting them....
I’m with Tyrus (Gutfeld) on this one. Seems like this was a hit.
Two more new boy toyz for the female “Dipstick” Court skanks. I’m getting tired of those old bags.
HANG THEM!!
Most crimes are state crimes and I believe he has been charged in state court. The way New York courts work, the feds are tacking on what they can so if he is released in bail from the state, he goes into federal custody.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think refusing to serve certain people at a lunch counter is a federal crime as is shooting a federal officer in the face.
I think that comes down to if the perp knew he was a federal officer or if it was just a random robbery but can’t say for sure. I am positive these guys are done for in the end and will be serving very long sentences as more charges will come.
