I’ve been to drag queen shows in Frisco and they are hilarious. No jokes about kiddies. But, damn, you better not catch the eye of any of them or they will toast you in front of everyone.

Those in New York City government try to suppress the numbers of how many patrons are no longer in the city, including those who would attend drag shows. The COVID-1984 lockdowns accelerated the exodus that was already ongoing.

It was a fad. When the fad is growing, companies jump on board because they see ‘growth’, it becomes an attractive (economic) advertising channel.
Now it is on the downturn, they all abandon it quickly. It was NEVER about the ‘cause’, just selling stuff.
I should think another completely different line of work would be called for.
