ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Adults living in the U.S. illegally will be excluded from a state-run health care program under an overall budget deal that the closely divided Minnesota Legislature convened to pass in a special session Monday.
Repealing a 2023 state law that made those immigrants eligible for the MinnesotaCare program for the working poor was a priority for Republicans in the negotiations that produced the budget agreement. The Legislature is split 101-100, with the House tied and Democrats holding just a one-seat majority in the Senate, and the health care compromise was a bitter pill for Democrats to accept.

Melissa Hortman was the only Minnesota House Democrat to vote for the bill.
In the Minnesota Senate, DFL Sens. Grant Hauschild of Hermantown, Ann Rest of New Hope, Robert Kupec of Moorhead and Majority Leader Erin Murphy of St. Paul voted for the bill.
Both victims voted against funding HC for illegals.
The female has passed along with her husband.
No. BOTH Minnesota democrat party (DFL-registered democrats) senators who voted with the Republicans for this bill were shot last night. At home. With their families.
Two were assassinated, several wounded at the different houses.

Melissa Hortman voted for the bill in the House.
John Hoffman did not vote for the bill in the Senate.
And just so people understand, the bill was to repeal free health care for illegals...
True, however Hoffman has been getting tired of the DFL antics and has become pretty centrist as of late.

Free health care for illegal aliens needs to be banned at the Federal level. States who do not comply lose federal funding.
This will not change a thing, the illegals will just go to the ER and not pay, raising rates for everyone who actually pays.
What if they are a port-a-potty cleaners or the sour cream guy at Taco Bell?

The real eye opener is that Tampon Tim was expected to veto this close repeal. Now that a former labor board appointee of his has killed the former House Speaker for braking ranks and shot one of the Senators will Walz reward the killer by vetoing the bill.
His impassioned rhetoric of the last few weeks has prompted this climate. Will MN reward him?
