Jamie Dimon: America Should Be Stockpiling Bullets
Hot Air ^ | 2 Jun, 2025 | David Strom

No, Jamie Dimon isn't predicting an invasion of or civil war in the United States, but during his wide-ranging discussion at the Reagan National Economic Forum, he did issue some dire warnings about how American policymakers have made some very poor decisions in recent years that threaten economic turmoil in the near term and our long-term dominance in the medium term.

Dimon, as you likely know, is CEO of JP Morgan Chase and the most powerful banker in the world, making him one of the powerful people in the world. While Dimon is not a magician, it would be stupid to ignore his observations and warnings.

👀 “We shouldn’t be stockpiling #Bitcoin , we should be stockpiling guns, bullets, tanks …” JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon

You could almost hear Pete Hegseth whispering in his ear about "lethality," a concept with which the Biden administration was unfamiliar. The US military is not a vehicle for providing sex change operations, celebrating diversity, or spreading the DEI gospel around the world. It exists to deter our enemies and, when necessary, kill people and break things. And it seems to have taken its eye off the ball at a particularly dangerous point in history.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order in March establishing a Bitcoin reserve, which he described as “a virtual Fort Knox for digital gold.”

“We should be stockpiling bullets,” he continued.

“Like, you know, the military guys tell you that, you know, if there’s a war in the South China Sea, we have missiles for seven days. Okay, come on. I mean, we can’t say that with a straight face and think that’s okay. So we know what to do. We just got to now go about doing it. Get the people together, roll up our sleeves, you know, have the debates.”

Dimon joined a fireside chat during the Reagan National Economic Forum in Simi Valley, California, at the Reagan Presidential Library Friday for a sweeping discussion on the economy and how the world’s “tectonic plates are shifting” in geopolitics in the form of wars, proxy terrorists and the potential proliferation of nuclear weapons.

It's easy to underestimate the importance of military dominance to our economic dominance, and particularly to our status as the world's reserve currency. And in turn, it is only our status as the world's reserve currency that has allowed us to spend ourselves to the brink of insolvency. Loss of that dominance would lead to an economic crisis--one that we are already rushing toward unless we get our act together.

Dimon has been an establishment Democrat, but during recent months has been highly critical of Democrats and often sympathetic to MAGA. As I wrote as far back as January 2024, he chastised Democrats for failing to listen to the concerns of MAGA.

“I always get asked this question: Are we going to be the reserve currency?” he said.

“No. You know, if we are not the preeminent military and the preeminent economy in 40 years, we will not be the reserve currency. That’s a fact. Just read history.”

He referred to the U.S. government as a “Leviathan” that is too weak to carry out policies, while simultaneously imposing “things on the American public that they’re getting sick of.”

Dimon argued that instead, the U.S. needs to celebrate its long-held values.

“Celebrate our virtues: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise, equal opportunity, family, God, country,” he said.

Dimon didn't endorse Trump's policies--obviously, he thinks the Bitcoin thing is kinda bizarre, as do I--but he reserved his biggest criticism for Democrats' policies. Immigration under Biden was an unmitigated disaster, and unlike the Chamber of Commerce types who are just looking for cheap labor right here and right now to goose next quarter's numbers, Dimon acknowledged that Biden's policies were insane.

And then there is the problem of government getting in the way of innovation and economic growth, which is much more than an annoyance--it undermines the foundation of America's economic dominance, which is the strength of our economy. The more the government meddles in the economy, the less efficient and dynamic it will be.

And it had better be as dynamic as humanly possible. Most people don't seem to understand how precarious America's finances are, and likely won't unless and until there is a massive crisis in the bond market (Dimon seems to be predicting one). As we argue about tweaks here and there to government spending and whether the US government should require able-bodied young men to get off their asses and work 20 hours a week in order to get government benefits, the debt clock ticks up in increments of trillions--not billions--of dollars a year.

What globalist Jamie Dimon says is a “tell” for what’s coming.

To keep our reserve currency status around the globe, we are going to have to fight. Everyone is welcome to send their children out to fight around the world for our Sodomite elites, LGBT rights, transgender surgeries, open borders, forced jabs, public school indoctrination, pride month, corrupt judges, uniparty, etc. However my conscientious objection family will serve the “Prince of Peace” here or in another peaceful country.

As globalists, one of their goals is to make it so there IS no other place to flee from their tyranny. You will kneel before Zod or be crushed in their global 3rd world sh*tholian utopia.

...these parasites should have been outed and exterminated long ago. Unfortunately our investigative "journalists"/gov. oversight "public servants" were put on THEIR payroll long ago.

AWARENESS/ Prepper ping : Was Jamie talking only about national security and civil turmoil,
or has he incite about the upcoming civil unrest that concern us all ?
You be the judge of the anticipated unrest
Is security in precious metals, or bitcoin, or preparedness itself ?

I haven’t heard any more talk of the Sleeper Cells who came up in the invasion across the southern border. I think they’re hunkered down awaiting activation.

“Celebrate our virtues: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise, equal opportunity, family, God, country,” he said.

This would have been common boilerplate speech at any Democrat convention in the past. It's hard to imagine it coming out of the mouths of any of the current cast of DNC clowns unless those words mean their opposite.

Dimon should be reminded that merely shoveling more money at the MIC is probably not the correct solution. Carving out the waste, graft, and fund redirection is long overdue.

I think the requirement specification process for military equipment needs to be revamped. Specifications seem to always be a new stretch on what is technically achievable. This drives up the development cost and the production cost. This results in things like the $5,000 hammer and the $20,000 toilet seat. If specifications were developed based on what is actually needed by the end user then a huge amount of money could be saved. Of course the MIC loves developing “unobtanium” because more expensive is better for them. And the politicians that vote for these things get big campaign donations from the MIC who push their employees to contribute to their company PAC.

So many thoughts here.

What follows is my informed opinion. You can disagree with it/them, but I can’t share how I got the info that formed these opinions. I’m retired but the rules still apply.

“We have missiles for 7 days.”

Nope. A powerful, near-peer enemy has a vote, lots of them.

After they attrit a large number of missile platforms, we’ll be lucky to have 3-4 days of missiles.

What the Chinese cannot do, and they know it, is prevent the Three Gorges Dam from being breached.

The Chinese also understand MAD. Their population (that matters to them) is far more concentrated than ours as are their industrial centers. Sure they could (or a sponsored proxy could) pop several devastating HEMP nukes over the US. And Ruin Guam, Hawaii, take over the South China Sea and force Australia to capitulate after the Philippines are crushed. All the war games that were worth their salt salt demonstrated they could do that.

But would China survive? Not as the current industrial nation they are today, not with their international trade intact. They’d face famine and lose a billion people.

Not that the CCP cares. They take the VERY long view. ‘There will always be a China.’

So, ya gotta ask a couple questions:
(1) Are they stupid? I’d say no. They’d love to take the South China Sea for the Oil and Food production, particularly of the waters. An all out war with the US would leave them with ‘possession’ of the South China Sea and likely the Philippines, but the CCP would be faced with TOTAL economic ruin. Congratulations. You wrecked your wealth machine and way of life. Pyrrhic victory at best.

(2) is the US and PACOM as weak as it was even 12 months ago. NO, not at all. While we can’t bring overwhelming force to bear like they can, we know how to cripple them and can do so in just a few days after hostilities begin. Will our surface forces (Naval, Space, Air and Land) take devastating losses? Sadly yes. But our undersea forces won’t. A lot of what they carry isn’t nuclear. FWIW, their subs, particularly the nukes are jokes compared to ours. Are they capable weapons delivery platforms? Yes. In a first strike scenario they’ll be able to start their launches, and die as their subs flood and sink til they implode. Their diesel subs are a threat to surface assets only if our ships are ordered into their available theatre of operations. They are quite quiet and can stay submerged longer than the diesel boats of even the Vietnam era. I seriously doubt they can get within torpedo range of our CVNs, but they could hit perimeter ships. And then die. The CCP would cease to have a submarine threat outside the straits of Taiwan after 24 hours. Our orbital platforms that matter are more maneuverable and survivable than the public knows. We’d know when any other orbital platform was in an orbital intercept path and take countermeasures. NET: our space force assets will last long enough, though crippled of course. Civilian GPS will be gone in minutes. Doesn’t matter.

Final thought for now - *IF* the envisioned war in the Pacific doesn’t kick off ‘soon’ the US will have the autonomous wingman UAVs and aircraft available in theater. Same for the attack boats which will have their long duration drones WAAAY out in front of the the surface fleet. Boomers just don’t need to be close. Not an issue. We *might* even have credible swarm drone defenses in place in time. We *know* how to do it. They’ve been demonstrated.. But will they be in theatre? Dunno.

For the peeps - yeah, keep prepping as per your plan. No reason no to. FWIW, I believe the threat the I$l4mist nutcases who are excited about the coming of the 4th Iman and chomping at the bit to nuke the Great Satans. Or unleash a bioweapon. OR hundreds of local cells. They just don’t care if their homeland is turned to radioactive glass. That is a problem for us.
