The problem with “lock and load” is that with the DNR, the question is not whether YOU think you are in danger from a bear, it’s whether THEY think you were in danger.
While you’re standing there wondering if the feds will come after you if you shoot, the bear is advancing at a rapid pace. Which is more dangerous to encounter — the feds or the bear? Decisions, decisions.
