WASHINGTON (AP) — Detailed Army plans for a potential military parade on President Donald Trump’s birthday in June call for more than 6,600 soldiers, at least 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, seven bands and possibly a couple thousand civilians, The Associated Press has learned.
The planning documents, obtained by the AP, are dated April 29 and 30 and have not been publicly released. They represent the Army’s most recent blueprint for its long-planned 250th birthday festival on the National Mall and the newly added element — a large military parade that Trump has long wanted but is still being discussed.
While the slides do not include any price estimates, it would likely cost tens of millions of dollars to put on a parade of that size. Costs would include the movement of military vehicles, equipment, aircraft and troops from across the country to Washington and the need to feed and house thousands of service members.
High costs halted Trump’s push for a parade in his first term, and the tanks and other heavy vehicles that are part of the Army’s latest plans have raised concerns from city officials about damage to roads.
Asked about plans for a parade, Army spokesman Steve Warren said Thursday that no final decisions have been made.
Col. Dave Butler, another Army spokesman, added that the Army is excited about the plans for the birthday festival..
“We want to make it into an event that the entire nation can celebrate with us,” said Butler. “We want Americans to know their Army and their soldiers. A parade might become part of that, and we think that will be an excellent addition to what we already have planned.”
Others familiar with the documents, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the plans have not been finalized, said they represent the Army’s plans as...

It's for the US Army's 250 year celebration that they might hold on Trump's birthday, but the title has the obligatory anti-Trump spin.
Tanks. TANKS! Give me some tanks! I wanna see the asphalt buckle under their weight.
Absolutely! It’s going to be brutal marching in the July heat on that asphalt.
This should happen on base somewhere. Easier logistics, and it doesn’t look so Third World. A parade after a war is one thing, but this isn’t a good luck to do it in DC. Hope they do it somewhere else. It would be perfect on one of our military bases.
Total Bias! June 14th is Flag Day, the Army’s birthday, and Mr. Trump’s birthday.
They should use the capitol for target practice.
We had more 82nd, Marines, and National Guard when I was there in Mayday of 71.
Just imagine if a call goes out to all current and former service members to join in the celebration.
I wonder if The Saluting Marine would be available?
Well the AP you take with a grain of salt since they literally refuse to call the Gulf of America…the Gulf of America
doesn’t matter, the talking point has been defined, and no truth will overtake the weak minded.
That’s right.
I love the idea of a Flag Day/ USArmy/ President birthday celebrating. But I also am very concerned about big spending, rising debt ceiling, lack of a bidet, $37T of debt and collapse of the USA. Can we keep these factors in mind for a meaningful celebration?
P.S. The AP can suck lemons.
LOL... lack of a BUDGET not a bidet. That’s a funny spellcheck fail.
Invade Canada and hold the parade in Ottawa or Montreal.
Tanks!

Giddy-Up with The Heavy Armour!

April 29-—Saddle Up Boys!
When was the last parade held on June 14th? Oh yeah, NEVER. This is about the liar in chief’s ego and stroking it.
I remember that. We were dragging the hippies over to RFK stadium by the busload.
I was held in the coliseum for several days and then the DC jail.
In the Coliseum there was no food, no showers or blankets, we did have water from the bathroom sinks and drinking fountains.
About day 2 or 3 the national Guard raised up some money and bought us all a single small hamburger each that they brought in and we dispersed (effectively) among ourselves, about 3,000 of us, an exercise that I doubt modern Americans could pull off well, but that was the only food.
The DC jail was great on food, it was a slice of bologna between two dry slices of white bread but they would shove in a big box filled with them and you could eat all you wanted.
Were you part of the 4,000 82nd guys?
Yes , it was a shitty job but we could not stand the hippies and it was a pleasure to give them a lesson in reality, bunch of crybabies! I’m sure you had some spit, bottles of piss and other crap come your way from the lefties. Funny how all that disappeared down the media memory hole.
