Iraq and Afghanistan. NATO helped the US? What was it they helped us do, in particular?

NATO’s help to the US has always been just a show, it has not been logistically nor militarily significant. The help was a token of “solidarity.” Even the intelligence is so dependent on American assets that NATOs arm is effectively blind if the US pulls out.

What about when the French refused to allow our planes over French airspace, I believe also Turkey did the same.

They also helped us in WWII. All we had to do was supply them with war machines, fuel, food, medical supplies, long range transportation, arms, ammunition, and resupply logistics for all the previously mentioned stuff. Then we had to placate their lousy leaders and do some stupid things their way. Like, Market Garden, for example.

Yeah, they've always been a big help.
