Disturbing video shows a terrified, screaming woman being beaten and kidnapped in broad daylight in California — with drivers ignoring her as she screamed for help.
The still-unidentified woman, thought to be in her early 20s, was walking on 98th Street in Oakland around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when a man tried to hit her with his car — then jumped out and started repeatedly punching her, according to cops.
The attacker then drags her to his car, forcing her inside “while she yelled that she was being kidnapped,” police said.
As the chilling beatdown and snatching occurred, several cars can be seen passing by on the two-way street, the video shows.
The kidnapper sped off in the car, which had been stolen and was later found dumped.

Totally brave. If I were faced with that situation I would not know what to do. In theory I’m a true believer in taking risk to help someone in dire need, but in reality I think I would freeze out of self preservation instinct.

Not exactly... the elderly one-third, the very young one-third, and 90% of the 50% that are females are not contributing to that stat... and more than than half of the males age 14-40 aren't committing crimes either... It's actually a lot closer to 50% of 33% of the 13%, plus maybe 10% of the 50% of the 13%... so about 2.145% plus 0.65%... call it 2.8% of the population that keeps striving to get close to 50% of all of the violent crime.
At least among the violent crimes committed by American citizens. Another small specific subset of our lovely migrant population is trying to keep pace as well, it seems.

yeah the best I would do is probably tell naked person to hide by my garage, let her into the garage and have the police come ASAP. Would not want to let her in my house though.

Late one summer night around ‘93 I was walking along with 3 friends. A somewhat disheveled and dirty but not bloody woman dressed for a night dancing at the metal club came running towards us screaming, “Hes trying to kill me!”
My car was nearby so I told her to get in and my friends stuffed in around her. Im a pretty good driver and know that area pretty well so I thought I would just lose him in the weird turns and alleys because there are a lot those down there. Unfortunately I wasnt driving a sports car and even if he didnt know the area he was catching up pretty easily on any straight.
For whatever reason she couldnt pick a sanctuary for me to take her to and he started getting pretty aggressive so I got on the main road and headed right for the cop shop. They have a garage that if you are under threat you can pull up and honk and they will let you in.
I pulled up and honked then as I was pulling in some cops came running out. My friends and I got out and she got out. As I stood there telling them what happened with the garage door still open the male in the sportscar pulled up to the driveway apron.
She ran out of the garage and jumped in the pursuing car and they peeled off leaving all of us including the cops standing there wondering what just happened.
A drunk telling an exaggerated story? A very poorly planned kind of car jacking attempt? A hooker trying to get home without turning everything over to the pimp? I dont know and I dont really care, I just know that Im not going to get involved in something like that again.
