Of course he would say that if Kohberger had had a bad case of sunburn as a child.

in a fair Universe, the judge could rule:
the murderer’s lawyers will now be jailed and face
the same penalty.

Like RUSH would say, he didn’t get enough Peanut Butter as a kid. It’s not his fault.

I know some people with autism, and one I love dearly. They are as morally responsible as anyone.
I don’t know why there is a rash of autistic killers lately. I can only think that they are far more susceptible to obsession - but what is it that triggers the obsession?

toeing the line means something entirely different when there’s a fungus among us.

Murder is murder. It doesn’t matter what the excuse is.

First, the lawyer wanted all the evidence barred, which is certainly helpful for the defence, now he has autism and somehow that will save his life.
Evil men in prison usually have a keener since of justice than the court system and lawyers have, so he probably won’t last very long in prison.

By some definitions or symptoms almost everyone is autistic.

I now realize that everyone of us could be diagnosed with some kind of mental, emotional or social “condition”.
Reviewing my life, I would probably have been labeled as someone with Asperger’s syndrome, a chronic daydreamer, who often mis reads the social cues of others, or who at times just does not care what others think. I still must know and obey the basic laws of civilized society. I don’t get a free pass from knowingly committing crimes. All of us are “defective” in our own ways. To me, that makes life more interesting. We are not Clones.

If the lawyer for the defendant is pleading for an exemption from the death penalty for his client, it is because he knows full well his client is guilty as hell.
Which makes any trial for this SOB a sham and a waste of law-abiding taxpayers' dollars.
We need frontier justice in this country.

The defendant is a PhD candidate in criminology. Clearly there is no impairment that would block the death penalty. The defendant is exquisitely schooled in the details of criminal activity and likely leveraged those skills in committing the acts for which he stands accused.
