Maybe you take down the bear feeder I mean bird feeder.
The bear would never have tried that had there been enough bear hunting in that area.
I know most people would lose their heads, especially without training, and his wife was probably no different - but she sounded like a real liability in this situation.
Story would have been perfect if the bear was made into a rug and a photo accompanying showing the couple sipping some Cabernet....
> I heard some metal clanking sounds that I believed to be the bird feeder. I looked out the front window but could not see anything.
Then a deep, gruff voice bellowed, “IT’S PAYBACK TIME, GOLDILOCKS!” and a bear came crashing through the door.
Good they weren’t in trouble for killing the bear. Thanks for the post Dean.
Brought to you by cub reporters… 😐
Not hanging feeders full of food out there would be more sensible.
If you wait until 11 pm to get the feeder down you are waiting far too long after sunset.
I am surprised raccoons didn’t get to it first.
Thanks for the story and updates. In a course I took years ago from a retired FBI firearms instructor, everyone had to complete the FBI firearms qualification drill where shooting with one hand with strong and weak hand were part of the drill. The instructor explained that it is very common to have your strong side arm or hand injured in an attack and you need to have muscle memory for your weak side shooting as well. This story is a good example of that.
I’m picturing this guy fighting with the bear while his wife calls out, “What’s the code to the safe? I can’t hear you. Can you repeat it again?”
Glad to hear everyone is OK.
