I was watching last night and he pops up with an I ('Independent') by his name.
However, he voted entirely with the Democrats and even co-ordinated his amendments and spoke for them.
How can he call himself an 'Independent'?! I'm sorry but it's a complete fraud in my opinion.
Do Maine voters not get this?
So he was their governor once now he claims the mantle of 'Independence' and is their senator for eternity seemingly.
Unbelievable...
A bit like Sen. Sanders in Vermont.
Angus King - I niquitousness
Technically, so is Bernie Sandets, mo?
He should be honest and call himself a Democrat or the media should use that label
It’s a bit of a joke how he gets labelled as an Indy
Maine has RCV for a reason.
His actual name: Anus King.
The King of all Anus.
Isn’t he the guitarist for AC/DC?
Think about Susan Collins.
There’s something in the water in Maine.
King is a ringpiece as are the Mainers who voted for him and Collins.
There is not “like Sanders” about it.
Angus has been an “Independent” since he was Governor. But…he is a democrat.
Maine is a lot like Vermont. The population centers are very liberal. The rest of the state is pretty red. But when the schools vote…it shifts the state to blue.
Vermont used to be red except for Burlington and Brattleboro. In the past couple of decades, the New Yorkers and CT transplants have brought their crap to the state.
When Bernie was running for Mayor of Burlington, his support came from the students in the area. He was pretty much an avowed communist back then. Kids voted for him as a joke. A student could register to vote on the same day as the election. That has carried the day for Bernie for 40 years.
Jim Jefford (R-traitor) was also technically switching to independent but caucus (and voted) with the Democrats
Maine has RCV for a reason.
RCV has no bearing on this. He got well over 50% of the vote in his last election. The dem on the ballot came in third.
“Do Maine voters not get this?” Whatever it is the answer is always YES! Maine voters don’t get it.
In order to get committee assignments they pretty much have to join one party or the other.
Harry Byrd (VA) caucused with the Democrats
James Buckley (Conservative-NY) caucused with the Republicans.
Wasn’t Lieberman independent for one term?
