The main problem is not so much conflicting theories as conflicting evidence. MOND predicts no dark matter, and seems to explain what JWST is seeing. But we are also seeing direct evidence of dark matter by way of gravitational lensing. Namely, in the Bullet Cluster where dark matter and visible matter have separated, yet lensing occurs where not enough visible matter exists.
Lensing occurs where not enough visible matter can be seen because space itself is compressed in the early universe and causing the lensing effect. Like light passing thru water and air, it gets shifted..................
I have been reading a book about this since my childhood. It perfectly describes the beginning of the heavens and the Earth in the start of chapter 1.
