You just said NOT to!
A Euroweenie who doesn't know what a calorie is.
What’s it matter, zero is zero no matter what.
Pfft! Retrograde beats it, coming, and especially going.
Wasn’t there one very expensive mission where things were screwed up because someone at NASA failed to convert from one system to the other?
The problem with the Kelvin scale is that it exists in an abstract realm over a range that is mostly outside anything the world experiences and human senses can tolerate.
That stood out. I still had to look it up, but seemed improbable one calorie could be capable of that much work!
One is not objectively better or worse than the other. It’s entirely subjective.
If you’re familiar with one unit of measurement, and the people around you are familiar with that same unit of measurement, that’s the best one.
And Jenny’s Number is still 8675309..................
“And why haven’t they managed to come up with a 100-second minute or a 10-hour day?”
The Frogs introduced a system of decimal time as part of the French Revolution. It lasted 6 years. Everybody hated it.

While our country has prospered under our archaic system of measures, we are pretty much alone in the world with using pounds, inches quarts etc. The US should eventually convert to the metric system, but there is one major problem, our education system couldn’t handle teaching the metric system. If our students are being turned out barely able to read, unable to read cursive writing or tell time from analog clocks, I have little hope they could be taught the metric system.
Since I am familiar with Fahrenheit, I go with that. If I was familiar with Celsius, then I would go with Celsius. They both serve their respective people with the knowledge they need regarding to air temperature.. That is all that really matters. 😋
I’m sure those who think they know what is best for everyone, will try to impose their will.
Either way it can be either very hot or very cold. What difference does it make. Next week it will be meters versus yards. Who cares?

Construction drawings on federal projects require that dimensions be given in millimeters. Clutters up the drawing to see a wall length as 18244mm. Try to visualize that number.
We tried to convert back in the 70’s, speed limit signs were in MPH and KPH, drinks and other fluids were put resized containers and labelled both ways, and weather forecasts were done in Celsius but it didn’t last. People were just too engrained with the Imperial measurements.
It would have to take a dictatorship to force the Metric System on us. Absolutely no more references to pounds, ounces, pints quarts, gallons or inches, feet and miles. Change everything, everywhere, all at once...............
C = 5/9 x (F-32)
I have a gas meter in my yard...............
Or we could go to Kelvin. It’s 289.817*K outside right now.
