Posh parents fork over $1.1M for private NYC education — but demand refund over ‘multiple false promises’: suit

A couple who shelled out more than $1.1 million to send their three daughters to a posh Upper East Side private school that counts Jennifer Aniston among its alumni were aghast when administrators had the gall to hire public school teachers — and are demanding a refund.

The Rudolf Steiner School made “multiple false promises” according to a suit filed by parents Deighn and Ying Eliason, who enrolled their kids in the East 79th Street school more than a decade ago — and then yanked them because the specialized education they paid for was allegedly not delivered.

The $56,000-a-year school “knowingly hired public school teachers who had no Waldorf education certification or Waldorf education background, and never served as assistant teachers for the minimum two years as promised,” the couple alleged in their Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.

Caption from this pic in the story only says, "The parents were irate at the school’s hiring decision."

After looking at the Instagram account which was posted under this picture in the story, the parents are at left and right.

The photos at her Instagram account are an orgy of the finer things in life.

A three-piece suit with a turtleneck? Seriously, Dad, the “posh” school needs to countersue you for breach of cool.

We currently live in a Maritime-Contract Law society.

The court will be driven by the contract signed by parents where any legal “promises” were made. If not stated in the contract, parents are hosed. Unless, they get a court and judge that act regardless of contract.

Wow, that picture of the 12 year old Syrian Refugee is really something. The dude is HUGE, but no doubt the school (and the Biden Administration) will take his word regarding his age and where he’s from...and wish him the best in his new country.

For $1.1M I would sue if the ghost of Rudolf Steiner did not appear to give the classes in person.

Lol.

I’ve belittled ‘publik skool eddikators’ countless times. However, I know that there are a good many very compentent and talented publick school teachers (not eddikators) out there who would gladly choose go to a school with standards. So, let’s not belittle ‘em all. However, if: woke eddikator, then: worthless flushable turd.

“A Waldorf-style education emphasizes the arts, LIMITS THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY in younger grades, and pledges the same teacher will follow students from elementary to eighth grade.”

How DARE they make their kids actually learn math. They’re damn lucky CPS hasn’t shut them down yet.

Waldorf schools are student-directed learning, I think.

It's unlikely that the school promised the parents anything in the contract they've signed. So if they're not satisfied, they need to find a new private school. They should be reevaluating their options every year anyway.

Hi, Mary!

Hi, Jane!

Our little princesses are almost school age.

Why don’t we hire a tutor. Our per parent cost would be half that of many NYC private schools.

Ask Letitia James and Donald Trump how effective disclaimers are in NY.

If it’s in the school’s marketing materials, it had better be in the classrooms too.

My kid goes to public school in a conservative suburb.

Due to very good pay and well behaved kids they get the pick of the litter when it comes to teachers. They haven’t shoved any social nonsense on the kids.

By contrast the dumbest person I know went to a swanky private school.

I’m convinced the only way she made it through to graduation was because her parents were wealthy and gave to the school.

At 3x56k = 168k a year, they must have been there over 6 years to have spent $1.1 million. So I’m not getting how they suddenly realized this.

The only interesting factoid in this article is that Jenifer Aniston went to the school. I would have wrote don’t stand so close to me if I was her mentor.
