The answer is staring us right in the face. Every year, about 200,000 service members transition out of the military. These aren't just numbers on a page – these are trained professionals looking for their next mission, and we desperately need them not just for Border Patrol but for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Remember the Minutemen? Those guys who laid down on their lawn chairs with their binoculars and cell phones? Trump should summon them to order when he takes office and ask them to hold the fort while the new hires are being trained. Heck announce the new hire job now so they'll be ready to go.

I predicted this a while back. I also suggested that older veterans (Vietnam era) could sign up to man desks, thus freeing up younger vets for tactical work.
I remember how the left responded to these minutemen helping the country out. Can’t handle the patriotism. I’ll pay frothier umbrellas and a six-pack. Batteries for their boom box.
That’s what I was thinking.
Get 10,000 illegals with clean records and tell them they can stay another 3 years if they do the job well and then He will decide after that what to do with them.

It would be a good temporary job until July, 2026, our 250th B.D.-Might not need the 15+ months as the job will quite possibly be finished.

Not 10,000, 100,000 is realistic. If the goal is deport 40 million illegals.
In a day and age where almost nobody sends (or wants to receive) snail mail, and almost everywhere is reachable by commercial delivery, we have a US Postal Service of over half a million employees, which is more people than are US Army soldiers.
Companies transfer people between divisions and departments all the time.
Transfer 10,000 of the new IRS agents to Border Patrol. Fire the other 70,000.
Give the transferees six weeks of training. If they don’t want the new job, they can leave.
Or they could cut off every bennie, no birthright citizenship, and tell them not if, but when they are caught, the whole family will be deported and never allowed back....there would be caravans TO Mexico instead of the US.
That’s amnesty of a sort, which as we have (or at least I thought we have) learned only leads to more illegal “immigration.”
There’s more than enough border agents if you put them back on the border and not processing hundreds of thousands of illegals.
Shut down the border and have open target practice all along it.
