You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days.  If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!

I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

Thinking about your Reuben ….. I LOVE sauerkraut but not so much the corned beef.

By-the-way, did you ever figure out what to do with your cranberries?

Awww. Thank you. There’s actually 4 of us doing these, and we often wonder how many people do these every morning.

I had already boiled them and added sugar

And about a whole can of cranberry sauce

Then about 7 tablespoons of white sugar

AND three McDonald’s honey packages

Figured it would be heavily-sweetened

It’s barely sweet go figure

Boiled for so long the cranberries almost completely disappeared

Gonna pull back out today if I can get some brown sugar

We’ll see...

Reheated after draining the ham juice into a sauce pan

I added a bit of cinnamon probably about a teaspoon maybe slightly more, 2 more tablespoons of white granulated sugar and then a can of heavy syrup fruit cocktail. And a pinch of salt 🧂 🧂 after your recommendation.

I chopped up a couple more dozen cranberries and put them in the boiling mixture.

Poured it all back over the ham to cool.

Added diced buttered canned potatoes to the French cut green beans with mushroom soup

Boiled (slightly) 3 cans of creamed corn 🌽🌽🌽

I had enough for small orange juice and brown sugar BUT the frozen banana 🍌 cream pie 🥧 was on sale for half price soooo....

Now I have pecan pie, pumpkin pie 🥧 and banana 🍌 cream pie

I was 30 cents short because the local taxes went up almost 10% from 5.5% on food

I usually calculate it to the penny or within 2 cents

But somebody helped out

I won’t forget them next time I’m in

I’ll have a little more money this weekend Lord willing

Made extra brown gravy

Tomorrow probably bake for rolls - I like the cheap ones - I don’t like Hawaiian sweet

Might bake some Idaho potatoes on Saturday or Sunday

I have enough ham still in packages to make a small Christmas and a small New Year’s Eve dinner 🍽️🍽️ Lord willing

Plenty of canned vegetables

Shoot I put 4 cans of French cut green beans 2 cans diced potatoes and a large and a small can of mushroom soup in that mixture.

HUGE container of that stuff

Got 3 more whipped topping today

I have milk 🥛🥛 for macaroni and cheese but too much food already made

I’ve got 36 rolls for baking (Walmart cheapies)
