So similar arguments could be made to harvesting sea turtle or California Condor eggs before they hatch ... they're "not yet" sea turtles or condors or spotted owls or eagles ...

I know ... I know ... there's a major difference between a human being and an animal, but I'm sure this "lady" would be protesting out in the streets should the government decide that protections should be removed for the eggs of "endangered species" ...

Once the egg starts to germinate, is different than just an egg.

Not sure you would want to eat a half way developed sea turtle or any other bird...
