9 Foods That Have the Same Effect as Weight-Loss Drugs

Weight-loss drugs like Ozempic have gained popularity recently for their ability to support weight loss, which can mostly be attributed to their appetite-suppressing effects. Ozempic is in a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists, which mimic the hormone GLP-1. This slows down gastric emptying and sends signals of fullness to the brain. Basically, this means food stays in the stomach longer and tells the brain that you are full and don't need more food. This leads to less calorie consumption and, eventually, weight loss.

I normally eat all of them except for barley 🤢 and oats because they said oats were high in carbs, and they make you fat. So what is it? 🤷‍♀️ yea or nay on oats?

Oats are for goats, humans should not eat them. Like you say too high in carbs you might as well eat a candy bar.

My daughter came across 39 cans of sardines.

She gave them to me as I read about the Sardine diet. Eat as many sardines as you want for 3 days. Nothing but sardines. Only sardines. No crackers.

You'll lose 10 pounds.

I like sardines. But not that much.

In related news, “scientists & experts” have rediscovered an age-old method that has a significant history of working every time it is applied. This exceptional method has a name: Push Aways...... Push yourself away from the table.

It is akin to what El Rush-Bo used to say about birth control - abstinence, it works every time it is tried.

Take it from a 84 year old me, it is HOW much you eat, not WHAT you eat. I still weigh same as at age 25,
5’-8” and 150 lbs. I eat ice cream almost every day.

1, maybe 2, out of 10. Pretty good for the Left. Eggs for sure, Avocados - arguably for losing weight (but great food).

I essentially live on oatmeal because of food sensitivities.

No, oats will NOT make you fat.

What you put on them may, but plain oatmeal won't.

I lost weight when I switched from wheat to oats.

Don't know about barley, however barley is a good lower carb grain. I make beef barely soup with it and that's essentially all I use it for.

There's something about wheat though, that makes me pork up almost instantly. I am NOT gluten sensitive nor do I have celiac. Whatever it is, wheat makes me fat.

FWIW, oats are exceptionally nutritious. Not much on the vitamins, but good on the fiber and minerals.

Stay at the serving size, which isn’t much. But I gave them up for the same reason! Occasionally indulge during the cold of winter.

No dairy of any kind.

Though you can add hot oil or other zero calories spices or sauces.

Just eat Gila Monster lizards and eliminate the semaglutide middleman. You’ll lose weight, but mostly because Gila Monster meat is not generally available at the supermarket.
