North Korea to send 12,000 troops to help Russia in Ukraine war: report

North Korea has begun the deployment of around 12,000 soldiers to support Russia's war in Ukraine, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported Friday citing the country's spy agency, saying it marks Pyongyang's first large-scale deployment of ground forces.

The National Intelligence Service said Pyongyang had deployed 1,500 special forces troops between Oct. 8 and last Sunday to Vladivostok in Russia's Far East and that the dispatch of a second unit is expected to take place soon. The move confirmed "the start of North Korea's involvement in the war," the agency said.

The North Korean soldiers are currently stationed with Russian military units in the Far East region and undergoing training. Once they complete it, they are expected to be deployed to the front lines, the NIS said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un personally inspected the special forces troops twice in August and September before their deployment, the spy agency added.

The soldiers have been issued fake identity cards resembling those of residents in Siberia who have similar facial features to North Koreans to pose as Russian troops, the NIS said.

Will this warrant or cause a similar response from the West who are supporting the Ukes? Where do they go from there?

I read where some Nork troops have run away, but not sure if it’s really true or not.

Bullhorns-call on them to defect. Then photoshop their heads attached to dead bodies. Put them in a ‘witness protection’ program and fly them to South Korea. They probably don’t want too many of them as they’re like trailer trash.

A few thousand more Norks and Russia will equal the number of Westerners in Ukraine supporting the war.

I was wondering what the over/under is on the number of deserters. Especially if they end up in Ukraine territory.

North Korea practices generational punishment, they would not only kill any defector’s immediate family but two generations back as well, which is one reason why so few people actually defect from North Korea.

North Koreans are ordered to hand over ‘decadent and bourgeois’ pet dogs for ‘restaurant meat’ as the country is rocked by food shortages

Dictator Kim Jong-un announced in July that owning a pet is now against the law

Authorities are identifying homes with dogs in Pyongyang and rounding them up

Some of the dogs are sent to state-run zoos or sold to dog meat restaurants

Just more lies until proven otherwise

.

"Ukraine's Western allies have yet to confirm Kyiv's assertion that Pyongyang is sending troops, though they say they are studying it.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said in a press conference alongside the Ukrainian leader on Thursday that "we have no evidence that North Korean soldiers are involved in the fight".

Wonder if the reason North Korea blew up the roads to South Korea was because they feared mass desertions to the south.

The truth is the last thing South Korea wants is destabilization in the North because of the millions of refugees that would result.

China fears this as well, across their border.

Which is the reason that both encourage the status quo, as much as possible.
